Fun fact: The girls in white hood are actually thai young women who got auditioned, but they unaware that they are going to dance with the superstar Lisa, they dance without music, only counting and this place was shoot in china town, bangkok, which was rumored to close early and got compensated for it. The 3 women featured were all transgendered. She also hired LGBTQ 🏳‍🌈people for this video. Lisa highly promoted her country and her people with her. She's really a good role model to everyone. That's why I love her! She's a rockstar

Can you teach me Japanese? The part she says is actually a reference to people saying Lisa is Japanese. The fact that they all dress in white is a reference to those who say that all Asians look alike. Rockstar is not just a rock style song, it contains many references and messages, its free spirit and strength are some of the aspects it shows us in this MV, it continues to break all perceptions and improve itself day by day.

The Japanese line has so many layers - 1) She does indeed speak Japanese and it’s a continuiation of her “every city I go is my city” line showing off her global appeal. 2) There is a very famous Japanese singer called Lisa and western publications have mixed them up a lot, once even crediting her on the Billboard charts instead of Lisa lol and 3) Western people will say all Asians look alike, they will mostly ask if you are Japanese or Chinese as if those two ethnicities are the only ones in Asia. This is re-inforced by the visuals of identical women and her doing the Thai greeting right at that moment.

The music video also features many Thai subcultures, which also happen to be mostly looked down on by conservative Koreans, such as the trans women and drag queens she featured - Thailand recently legalized same sex marriage while in Korea LGBTQ is still not widely accepted - and the tattooed up motorcycle gang. Everyone also has tan skin. Lisa herself has been criticized for her tanned skin and tattoos by k-netz.

“Been MIA, BKK pretty” also has a double meaning - both the shortened versions of Miami Airport and Bangkok Airport, alluding to her globalness again AND also to the fact that she was withheld from traveling to her beautiful home country Bangkok for almost three years by her previous Korean label YG, causing her to be MIA. Now she is back, choosing to film her music video there. The specific location is China town of Bangkok, also furthering how she is a global star by featuring yet another Asian country indirectly.

It was Lisa who wrote the song and a few more producers, it's at this moment that we realize how much freedom she didn't have to express herself in YG, now that she owns her own company, no one will be able to stop the queen of kpop.

She’s not K-pop, but more like T-pop 🇹🇭 (Thailand) and international- kinda-pop. As 90% of the staff, 100% of the dancers, and the SETTINGS are obvi in Thailand. She’s making Thais proud. 💗💗

In all of Lisa's works, she always hides the content. -She is often told that Being a Chinese person or a Japanese person, - Most people see Asians as having the same appearance, - People often have prejudices against Ladyboy, tattoos, tan skin, —she announced she was a solo artist. The (temporary) girl group lets you know she can do it.

I love Knox comments on all aspects of an artist's artistry, lyrics, production, choreography. It's much move involved and a true reaction in my opinion. Others do this too, but Knox is the most intentional with it. 💯

The way you understood immediately what she was saying at first listen is so impressive! Definitely how to tell a rapper without really telling you're a rapper moment

THERE IS NO TEDDY This is LISA's OWN LABEL that she created and she partnered with RCA Records. Lisa CO-WROTE and CO-PRODUCED this with others including Ryan Tedder. Once she left YG she can finally get her credits. Lisa participated in making songs before but never got credits maybe cuz YG didn't want her as a foreigner to get royalties from the songs. She is A REAL ARTIST, creating everything, from visuals to music! And this is just the start. She is dropping 2 pre-release singles and then rhe album!

Through this song she conveyed multiple messages by dissing korea and western people. She got trans and lgbtq people to show support since korea loathes them. The Japanese line, especially were you see all girl dressed up in white shows how western people all think that asians look the same. Lisa got confused with a Japanese artist and even Jennie, who is korean, which makes the message even stronger. ''That's my life'' could also portray her struggles as a foreign artist in Korea, since she got bullied multiple times for her dark skin colour (she was at the mall with Mina of Twice and got backlash for her natural tan) and her ethnicity. Let's not forget about the racism of Korean people who wanted her out of the group. She, unlike the other members, would get the smallest salary due to her being thai. As you can see, this is recorded in Thailand with thai people because she wants to show that she's proud of her ethnicity and culture, portraying it even in the Lalisa MV. The lyrics may seem basic at first, but it's interesting how you can analyze each.

Yes, You said it perfectly, Lisa has been attacked and harassed with malicious rumors for a while, where the headlines are disgusting and fake but the articles inside says NOTHING, pure clickbait to damage her reputation. I'm glad Lisa made that clear in her song. Tha song and beat is siick and pure FIRE!!
