I've heard a lot about problems with fusible plugs leaking too! I personally don't like the idea of de-superheating the refrigerant to heat water, because that's taking that much more heat away from your indoor coils.

Ralph I've been following your channel for quite a long time now... Always enjoy seeing your work and learning new things from you. I'm also in the hvac trade but I'm having a hard time with pricing out jobs especially service calls. Is there a standard rate book out there that I can benefit from buying? If not what's your suggestion?

I've heard of geothermal systems having problems with fuseable plugs just blowing out when they're used to heat water, and it's causing problems with oil loss, and lots of repair costs. Just remove the fuseable plugs and forget about those ozone destroying pieces of junk.
