Welcome to my channel trailer and the first video for a course on control theory. In this video I present a few reasons why learning control theory is important and try to give some motivation to continue learning.

Okay fine, you convinced me. I'll learn control theory.

True story: my professor (who is a control engineer) once collaborated with a doctor who was a pioneer in artificial heart surgery, and the doctor told him that he would have pursued control engineering instead of medical had he heard about it decades ago, because he was very impressed with the work my professor had done in designing control for a heart pump system, and he'd realized just how useful and how wide is the range of applications control theory can be applied to.

I'm currently in a class that deals with industrial automation and you've just explained this subject in a short period of time and made it 10000% more understandable than my instructor. I'm not joking. I can't thank you enough.

I've been watching your videos since I got control theory at college. Even though I already finished the course (thanks to you, btw) I sometimes come back here and watch they again and the new ones. Your approach to the subject is great and have beaten all the other sources that I've already seen. Congratulations for your channel and sorry for my bad English. A huge thanks from Brazil.

After the first 50 seconds I knew I was going to like this series. It sounds like we have the same learning style

The lab assistant for my automatic control class recommended this channel to us, believing this is a great resource for having an intuitive understanding of the subject and from my first impressions this looks like a great video course for one of the challenging classes of my semester. And for that I'm very greatful and excited.

Brian! I cannot thank you enough for making these videos. Seriously if it wasn't for amazing people on youtube like you that make the time and effort to make these amazing videos and accessible to anyone I don't know where I would be in university! Thank you thank you thank you! Don't stop! You are changing a lot of students lives!

Awesome video, clearly depicts how control systems bridge the gap between engineering disciplines, and how fundamentally important they are to understanding our world. This channel is amazing, and as a ME student I am drawn towards a career in control systems and can't wait to learn even more about it!

I'm on my second year of mechatronics and I just start this course, and it's the first video i ever seen on control theory so wish me luck

Starting watching these all over again now that I am taking a graduate-level course on automatic control theory (classical & modern methods). Thanks a lot, Bryan for making these and I hope I am able to cover the entire 9 hours of videos.
Back I go now to watching the videos.

Just wanted to come back and say a huge thanks for this. Control System Theory was the last course keeping me back from getting my Bachelors, and I was having trouble understanding it, as they don't teach it very well in Uni. Your videos are incredibly easy to understand and cover a great deal of what was in my exam. Thanks again in the name of countless struggling engineer students all around the globe.

Great series! I'm a veteran GNC guy who's done a lot of G and N but not much C. Recently got into a job with a lot more controls and, since I've been wanting to do more controls, need to brush up. (Translation: relearn) Your videos are exactly how I learnt and are well done. Thanks so much!

For years I had read "Modern Control Engineering" by Ogata millions of times but still I could not understand some concepts .After I watched these videos most of those concepts now seem really understandable. Right now I am reading the book and I find it very helpfull.

I gotta say that when I start learning control systems first, I didnt understand that how all those bunch of mathematical equations related to the system, but when i started watching your video, i finally realized those equations meaning. I really recommend this channel, its more easy to learn! Big thanks to Brian!

Thank you for acknowledging Industrial Engineering as a discipline of Engineering. Sometimes we don't get enough credit.

Nice video! I am a Computer Science student.. come because in my Machine Learning course, my professor mentioned that ML is related to many other fields like Control Theory, but I have no idea what a control theory is... I don't quite get the concepts after watching this video as well, probably because I don't have so much engineering background.I think I will just watch several more of your videos to see what this subject is... lol also wanna say hi to all you engineering guys.

Hi Brian, This is very intuitive video. I am very interested in Control System theory after watching this video. Before, when I opened the control system book, I was down of a bunch of maths equations :). This makes me get the idea behind the math equations.
