I worked with the fine folks at 1Password to help you choose a good master password! I use them. You should too. In this day and age you can't be too careful. THEY WILL PROTECT ALL THE THINGS!

I think this whole issue breaks down to two divisions:  1. Corporations, which need more than just a password to secure their assets; and 2. Individuals, for which nobody gives a fuck because your assets are statistically insignificant to a hacker thief, so use whatever password you want.

Jonathan great song, but your advice is not entirely correct. You sing that long but predictable phrases are worse than shorter less predictable ones. But you then substitute 3 names for 2 names. The names themselves though are equally random. You are therefore giving up length for no increase in randomness. You are trying to protect yourself from a human guessing your passphrase based on what makes sense. But what you want to protect yourself from is automated attacks through word lists, hash tables, cryptographical attacks and so forth. So don't sacrifice length for less guessability by a human. They aren't breaking the first part of your phrase and then guess the rest.
