My next door neighbor has three of them mounted on back of his 42’ HCB center console. It will limit out just shy of 70 mph on smooth water. The upper 3/4 of them are fixed in place. The lower units independently swivel to turn boat. There is a two speed ZF transmission to give max torque to get boat up on plane quick and then shift into higher gear to get max speed. Finicky design and build. I have two Mercury 300 hp Verado V8’s on a 29’ boat. They also make a 500 hp V-10 and these 600 hp motors have a normally aspirated V-12. Love the sound.

I'm still looking for one big enough for my 10 foot aluminum, and it seems they are getting closer to what I need...😊

They are getting insane but in 1973 I was blown away when we mounted our brand new merc 150hp on our 73 glastron gt 150 motor and power trim mounted $1300.00

I remember in the 80s seeing a 150 on the back of a Bass boat. I was thinking, Holy crap, they have hit the maximum in power and size.

50 + years ago i lived across the street from a machinist who brought home a one man helicopter one day. he managed to convert the engine into a massive, ugly outboard motor for a large flat bottomed boat he and my dad built in his garage. (it was large for the time) he used it as a shrimp boat around the Galveston area.

Why did they design them to look like a stackable washer and dryer though.

I can still remember when I got to ride in a friend's boat with a 300 hp outboard motor and I was blown away by it's power. These new engines are unconcieveable to me.

I would have to strap it on my back since, if i bought one, i couldn’t afford the boat

Not to mention, they run them in pairs, and occasionally three of them in triple set-ups !
That is the truest definition of BAD-ASSED and kick-ass ready for anything that happens to come along !!! 😎

The dual prop it's called a Bravo.outdrive Prop they are bad ass my best friend use 2 work at a big dealership for boats about 10 years ago he brought home a boat for a few people to go to the lake for the weekend It was a cutty boat Meaning it had a bed in the whole bottom front. Really tall, thick boat.
On the trailer stood about 12 foot, if you were sitting in the drivers seat.
Put it in the water. I lifted the hood for the engine just a 5.7 He said it has a Bravo. Watch this with 7 or 8 people on the boat came right up on plain and went on blew my mind so if u took a regular boat and put the Bravo outdrive I bet it would pull up 15 wake borders at 1 time. It makes it very strong with the same engine, just a 5.7 350 chevy and that same boat with a regular 1 prop outdrive i me could hold the boat from taking off or getting up on plain by holding the wake board sideways and just fight the shit out of it there is no way in hell i could do that to the Bravo outdrive And I I'm in no way making any money off of this. This is purely my opinion. If you haven't driven ridden on one, do it. If you are a boater, you will love it. They are expensive. That's why they're not on the regular ski boats because he would outpriced the boat, but with that said. Drive one you'll understand

My Uncle has a Checkmate V-Mate II with a Johnson GT200 w/drilled exhaust. With a 23p prop, it runs an easy 60MPH and accelerates crazy fast. Could imagine 600HP and a smaller sized boat that could handle it.

Jon boat yes sink it but if you did get it going you fly over backwards. I'd love to get my hand on one.
