MODERN TALKING - In 100 Years (1987 HD Music Video)

In 100 Years is a song by German pop group Modern Talking. It was released on 9 November 1987 on Ariola. The track is the only single from the band's sixth album, In the Garden of Venus. It was the duo's final release before their split later that year.

The song is about a person who believes that the current lack of empathy and understanding may lead to a dystopian future in which feelings, including love, are illegal, and in which expressions of romance and humanity will be only a distant memory.

The reality of this sets in for me: by the time this clip was filmed the duo already un-officially was disbanded/ceased to exists, filming the clip for In 100 years was just a mere formality!! Thomas Anders and Dieter Bohlen had even stopped talking long before this moment and their friendship stopped, I presume right after 3rd album as things took a wrong turn between TA and DB. The animosity between the two being kept alive by Nora. Its hard to listen to this but even the lyrics somehow described the relationship between the two! In my humble opinion this and the 4th and 5th album was just to honor the contract that was already singed with the record company Hansa/Ariola who wanted just to keep the band alive at all costs when both of band members broke up their fragile friendship beyond repair... So everything was just for façade this being the final act before the 1st split. To somehow demonstrate this if you watched closely...not a single frame was shot with both Thomas Anders and Dieter Bohlen in it as both were filmed on different days. Only songs and memories outlast you as a human!
