I decided to go for a MSBA instead of an MBA in order to learn hard skills and build my tool box to boost my employability/get me on a great career path. I think this is the right move early on in my career and then later on when I’m going for more senior positions I can go back for an MBA. Super excited to learn coding/data analytics.

Thanks for the great video. I am currently taking the master in business analytics after leaving school for more than 20 years hopefully to complement my CPA.

I’m currently doing MBA with Business Analytics specialization. Currently working as a marketing analyst and freelancing in paid ads. Hopefully I can demand higher salaries in the future.

💡 I completed an MBA first, followed by an MSc in Computer Science with Software Engineering. I now have all of the business acumen, analytics, statistical, and engineering abilities necessary for any career spanning data, engineering, and business intelligence. That being said, it was a lot of work and time, and a person could simply do the MBA, which is solid, tried, and tested, then simply do some professional certificates to fill in the gaps in business intelligence and data analytics, if a person has any, though this is dependent on employer requirements as some still prefer degree holders, but I believe that is starting to fade.

These are just my thoughts.

Ps. I have subscribed to this channel 😊

Why not get both? Many business schools are offering dual degrees in MBA and MBAn

Interesting video - the extra year of school certainly makes the MBA more expensive upfront. Although if an MBA grad has higher starting salary and continues to make higher salary, as ones career progresses it would seem that the gap between MBA & MBAn grad salary would continue to stay the same or grow even wider. If that's the case then the difference in tuition would pay for itself in <7/8 years. Thoughts?

I was thinking about pursuing the Master in Business Analytics but now after the release of ChatGPT and the crazy new AI tools coming out everyday I think I will reconsider my choice.

I have 10+ IT experience, w/ MS and BS in Computer Science. Therefore, I think an MBA would be better for my circumstance to round out my skill set. Would you agree?

I had considered MS in Business Analytics but dropped the plans to pursue MS(Innovation and Entrepreneurship) . I ended up doing an Analytics bootcamp that stretched for 9 months($8K) and now plan to enroll for MSIE or MPPM. My goals are a bit different. My intention was to achieve cost effective & job oriented "analytics skills" with a reasonable price.

MS Innovation and Entrepreneurship multiple Univ - The one from HEC Paris is the most promising and has excellent reviews.

Master of Professional Studies Product Management from Univ. of Maryland - The course looks good but didn't see much reviews.

Master of Professional Studies in Corporate Innovation from Univ. of Maryland

Mmmm So… I should get my major in business management and then go for a masters degree in data analytics? That’s not necessarily a bad idea.

What is kool, is I do this at my job right now and I am a trainer. I am definitely not going to MIT since I do not have the grades. However I am going to a well known IT schools that is about 10k lol 😂 I don’t think companies really care where you go to school as long as you know how to do the job. Don’t give me wrong good schools can give you a good opportunity but I think you have a good opportunity regardless of the school.

I have my bachelors in business management and I’m now considering getting my masters in business analytics, I’ve begun an online ibm course to become certified but I feel there’s still a lot more I need to learn. Would you recommend I go for my masters in BA?

Thank you for such an informative video. I have done my graduation in BBA in marketing. Is it a smart move to do mba in business analytics.

I am considering a masters in business analytics. However, I have a question about pre reqs. The University I go to offers a B.S. in Applied Business Analytics and B.S. in Business Analytics.

Here is how they differentiate the two: “offers both a Bachelor of Science in Applied Business Analytics and a Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics. Both programs prepare students for career options in business and analytics.

The coursework for the BS in Business Analytics focuses on business practices, while also including instruction in data visualization, data mining and predictive and prescriptive models.

However, in the BS Applied Analytics program, students focus more on the fundamentals of database structures, data mining, business analytics and project management. They also look into governance and ethics within the realm of businesses technology to prepare for an audit, comply with government regulations, and understand data-privacy issues. Coursework is focused on a mix of database and analytical skills. Students learn to use core business knowledge and data to solve business problems using an analytics approach.”

I work as an IT admin for an accounting firm and have experience with PowerBI. I want to work with the mechanics of compiling the data and not so much the business aspect of it. Hope I’m explaining that correctly.

My question is if I should go for the applied business analytics or business analytics?

MBA will teach how the world of business functions. Business analytics is also important if you really learn not just have a degree.
