Hi everyone! 👋
This video is just a guide and, I feel, is exactly what I’d do if I was starting from scratch and wanted to land a Python dev role. Do expand upon this to meet your own needs as you progress through the steps. To be “Job Ready”, it isn’t enough to just learn how to program; there are other factors involved which I’ve tried to cover in this video.

I've worked as a full stack web developer and what stood out to me were these points (in no particular order):
1. Interviewers are very interested if you can create something that provides value to others (or you have proven you have done so in that past -- this is where your portfolio comes in)
2. Willingness to be an independent learner -- first, try to solve the problem yourself (as long as there isn't a time constraint), then ask colleagues for help. Be willing to help out others when needed too.
3. Part of the job interview is seeing whether your personality gels with the employees currently working in the department. It's important to be yourself.
4. Your learning will accelerate when you get the job -- you don't need to know everything before you start!
5. Remember, interviews are two-sided. You must ask thoughtful and respectful questions -- It might be the case that the employer isn't good enough for you!
6. Always ask, politely, for feedback if you didn't get the job. And, genuinely, thank them for the opportunity... They may consider you again at a later date!

Anyway, take care and happy coding!😀

Thank you for saying that understanding Fundamentals might take upto 3 months. Idk why but other YouTubers make you feel like you should be able to get everything from Fundamentals to DSA and OOP in 3-4 months and when someone like me cannot achieve that, it hurts and often lead to quitting.

I was looking for a detailed study plan, guess I found one. Also, I have Coursera subscription of Python by Michigan University which I would use to learn Python! Would you mind creating detailed videos explaining data structures and algorithms?

Hi Steve, I am self-taught, and I already have 1 year learning JavaScript and 1 month of React. I just started learning Python for the Meta Backend course, my end goal is to become full stack as a Django Developer. I noticed there are jobs in New York City for Python Developers, and I wanted to know if it is a good idea to learn Python while learning Django? Or should I just learn Python separately? Thank for the book recommendation and the excellent video.
