Polycom Wifi Setup

There is an inexpensive adapter that can be added to the Polycom VVX series phones which allows them to connect to a WiFi network instead of requiring a network cable. This makes setting up new locations much easier when a network connection is not readily available.

This will work on wifi networks of 802.11 b/g/n/ac

Would it be possible to use a setup like this with a service like Google Voice?

My mother currently uses a MagicJack but her computer is unreliable so she frequently loses service. She also lives in a building where she has no internet in her apartment, it is a shared wifi for the build. I am wonder if I could pick up this setup and then put it on that wifi and eliminate the need for a computer just to run the phone.

Have a client that did this for one phone in their office and it's just red lights all over the place. It's either the wifi adapter or the wifi hub they bought from Amazon. The phone itself is brand new. Wifi is a whole other can of worms.

We have the VVX 401 at our offices and there is a USB port on the back. But before I purchase the dongle and power adapter, how do I know if this phone is wifi capable?

I have this phone, the VVX500, and bought this adapter but it will not prompt the application once inserted. I’ve tried rebooting the phone but it is still not working. What do I need to do?
