How you like the new splitscreen in the driving part?

I sure hope they will go back to regular buttons at some point for the steering wheel. For the radio, a volume knob. But maybe that is just us getting old and cars accommodating younger people while also saving VW money. I'd pick the previous interior over this any day of the week.

We have the prefacelift GTI and I always thought it looked a bit dull and boring but I am Pleasantly surprised with this update. Some materials are really beyond cheap but if you get a good deal for it, it is a really fun car that you can throw into a corner

This has to be best looking Polo GTI. Ever. And rightly so. Previous iterations looks wise always lagged behind its bigger brother, but now it's on par if not better. The clean, classy and sporty styling is what I love about the mk7 gti and having the same formula here for the Polo gti is an absolute winner in my eyes.

Nice new editing with the two screen, but I would like to you in full HD, full screen, and full length like before. But that's just me. After several videos (about thirteen) in this new style, I recommend you start a poll on Instagram to see what the majority think after spending much time seeing it.

VW needs to improve their interior materials. The car looks good from the outside but I dont like having the feeling of tapping an empty garbagge can made of plastic when im knocking the interior plastics with my fingers. Even a first gen Audi A3 had better plastics inside.

I've just bought myself a black pre facelift 2021 version- but it comes with the 207PS engine and 7 speed DSG. I actually prefer the pre facelift. I love this car- does everything so competently without showing off.

Nice review. Think you covered everything well. Ordered one myself last month to replace my Hyundai I30N. Decided to downsize and go for something not as hard core this time round. The only downside, is the projected 42 week (if you are lucky!) wait for delivery.

First review on YT, great job!
I really like how they improved the exterior with the facelift. Especially the GTI version looks now more aggressive, with some nice details like the interesting foglamps. They also finally went full LED even in the back. The only thing they left for the Golf are cascading indicators in the front. Overall a fresh, yet not over-complicated design.
From my perspective, the only questionable change with the facelift was making the dashboard glossy. The matte version was a better choice (even though I prefer the newer, a bit darker, shade of red). And well, having the ambient lighting in color would be cool, but again, they Golf needs at least some advantages to justify its price.
Pretty convincing package overall, especially since Thomas obviously enjoyed the drive.

Great review. We’ve just ordered one. You’ve captured my thoughts when I drove it. Seats are excellent. Decent torque figure and fun to drive but also quiet when you’re bimbling along on the motorway.

I never thought, I should say this, but I would prefer this car instead of the Golf mk 8. Back to physical buttons, however. Thanks for a great and thorough review. I still don't understand why VW skipped the 150 bhp R- Line Polo, but maybe it came too close to the GTI in terms of price and equipment? The average customer would probably prefer a GTI, if the price is reasonable. I know, I would.

Wish manufacturers would give their small hot hatches proper dual exhaust tips like their bigger brothers already have. Just doesn't look very sporty imo, but it having a 2.0 instead of a smaller 1.6 or 1.5 probably means you can get a decent and reliable power boost with relatively low effort.
