*Overall **enjoyable.fishing** recommend I feel the Shadowfire 360 offers excellent value for those who are new to tenkara and don't want to break the bank on their first rod purchase.*

Your solution to getting good fishing gear is get a job, put in the effort to shop, and get involved with your community. That's great advice.

I got a $75 dollar lews Jason Christie reel at Walmart for $30. One of the best reels I own right now. It’s held up for 2 years and still feels brand new

I always go straight to the fishing department. I do not want to watch my wife shop for garments. She can call me when she is done. :) I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Living in California now and loving the big water, but I do miss the walleye fishing days on my boat at the dam. I Just bought a new Diawa BG 5000 saltwater reel online for about $95....I would recommend the BG line of reels for anyone on a budget.

I have an abu Garcia promax reel ($80) and a Lew’s carbon fire rod ($80) and it has been amazing. Reel casts super smooth, rod is lightweight and has great sensitivity. Ive used it for around 6 months and I’ve had no problems whatsoever. It’s fairly cheap for a caster, and it performance is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone as a first caster rod and reel.

Great stuff man, I would also add GO TO FISHING EXPOS!!! Always find great deals there, most of the time tax free

This has been my first year fishing in Ohio. It’s been tough since I haven’t fished in a number of years. I moved up here three years ago. Im from Florida so I’m not used fishing the seasons and stuff, but I think I’m finally getting the hang of it 😂

I'm big on sales, steals, discounts, etc. Black friday on tacklewharehouse is a great deal. It's literally 20% percent off of damn near everything. I plan on saving more money specifically for that this year. I bought a couple duckett ghost rods for my dad for christmas, for $80 each rather than $100. Those savings really add up quick. It's also a good time to stock up on soft plastics. Say you know you're going to probably go through "x amount" off craws, flukes, or senkos in the spring or summer, so you spent $80 on black friday and get $100 worth of product. It's a smart investment.

Great tips! I put in my notice at my job, and I'm going to apply at Dick's today. I'll probably have to take about a 500% pay cut, but that 25% off will be sweeeet! Wish me luck!

Online sales (holiday) and price matching. Avoiding tax and shipping helps. Put Google search to use. I rarely pay full retail for something unless I am in a pinch and want/need it right that second.

Reasonable tips. The first is not so much but the other 2 were. I would also suggest thrift stores and Walmart.
