I drove tractor trailers for over a million miles and pickup truck gurus always crack me up, a an F 150 will pull 30000 pounds just don't try to stop it or take turns at normal speeds weight is all about tires and brakes and most people neglect both, standard truck tires aren't made for big loads and fools usually find this out the hard way, 10 ply tires will make the truck safer but do nothing for braking, that's why every Super Duty I've ever owned has been governed by Ford at 96 MPH they know the tires wont take much more than that for long, just trying to save few lives, I've seen too many lost on the road

You got away with exceeding the payload because you were just carrying an extra heavy load in the bed. But if you were to exceed the payload while towing a travel trailer with your family, you would be telling us a white knuckle driving story you would never want to experience again. Actual payload of that Platinum Tundra is around 1300 lbs.

The sticker with the tire PSI should say your payload.

Hello TRD JON!
Did you actually look at the 3 stickers on the driver's door more closely? If you look at the middle sticker. TIRE AND LOADING IMFORMATION STICKER. In the middle right above the red rectangular border it states. The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed. Right next to it will be the weight in both kg and lbs that your truck can carry. Now look at the solid yellow sticker at the bottom. This will show any weight that must be subtracted from that total carrying capacity. These numbers are VIN specific to your truck.

Holy cow what great timing! I just took a bunch of demo rubble to my local dump. I knew it was a little sketchy when my 22 platinum (with the avs system) looked like it had a Carolina squat to it. Turned out when I was weighing prior to entering the dump I was hauling 1.57 tons not including my truck. The truck did great, but I’d never do that again. It just felt really weird.

I picked up 3300lbs of stone in my 2011 5.7V8 8ft bed and it made the 20mile journey on a highway and up a 35degree gravel mountain pass with no problem. Just kept it slow and easy on the gas.

Hope you put it on Tow/Haul Mode for that type of of weight

I was towing a 33 foot boat and it weighs 11000 pounds and my TRD pro did went down more than 3 inches. But now I installed the air bag on it . I don’t see any squares any more and gave me a nice ride, even I put 1500 pounds all I have to do just pump more air in to the airbag. I think you should get on e for you tundra.

You do not subtract the weight of the vehicle's fuel load when calculating available payload capacity. GVWR - curb weight = payload capacity. The weight of the fuel is already calculated in the curb weight. The curb weight also includes all factory installed options, even a tonneau cover if it left the factory with it. Any DEALER installed options or anything else you add count against the payload number on the sticker.

So glad you did this vid, I’m buying a limited crewmax 6.5, and I’m a carpenter who will put Yakima racks on, and I’m concerned coming from a Silverado HD, which can carry an elephant and a Rhino

I had a 2017 Tundra with the 4.6L best truck ever I stacked in garbage and wet wood totalling 2300lbs and was doing a dump run about 10 mins into the run I forgot I had that stuff back there it handled it like a champ, gosh I miss my truck

How are you liking the 6.5’ bed? I’m looking to get a new tundra and I’m wanting the 6.5’ bed and put a toolbox and soft cover over the bed. I’ve tried to find some pictures to see what it would look like, but no luck.

Been enjoying your videos!

could just look at the sticker that tells you what the cargo capacity is. Used a lot of words and time and math to show something so simple.

Can you do an iforce vs iforce max comparison

Shame Toyota won't offer a max-GVW package. Issue the 7800lb IForceMAX payload to regular gas trucks.

I’m surprised my maverick has almost same payload I use the heck out of that for hauling. Nothing to tow but the sr5 was top3 trucks as well as the Jeep gladiator before purchasing

The total weight of the vehicle is 6099 lbs with full fluids

Dude, your pay load is on the side of your door of the driver side. They tell you how much you can carry no need for all that and buy experience. If you go over your capacity for too long, you can break the springs and driveshaft they will feel like he just had a crash, I Nissan titan couldn’t handle it with over 2000 pounds Ford and Toyota can handle it but you always have to make sure the shackles or tighten after you’vecarry a full load that’s what gets loose after a while if you go over the weight always carry the heaviest weight away from the door. I’ve been doing this for 30 years carry payload every day all day 2000 pounds by experience so far out of all the trucks I’ve had of different brands Ford is the way to go and I had a lot of Toyota‘s before.

That’s the problem that Toyota has done they’ve given you a motor that can pull, but the underpinnings don’t match. You don’t have a heavy duty suspension. You do not have heavy duty brakes. You do not have a heavy duty transmission, and you do not have a heavy duty cooling
Having a 12, 000 pound tow rating means you should be able to take at least 1200 pounds on the tongue
Ain’t no way you put 1200 pounds on the tongue of that Toyota. It’ll drop too far because they didn’t put proper suspension for towing.
