Putin is desperate, he clearly knows his grip on power is slipping away. His threat of retaliating with nuclear weapons is a sign of his desperation. The oligarchs who run Russia won't be happy with Putin's escalation and I think we will soon hear of Putin's tragic and untimely demise by defenistration.

People seem to forget Chechnya. "Russia" was falling apart at the seams, with many regions eyeing the door, and that region was the first to take the plunge.

Russia stomped it out as violently as it did because it knew if one was let go, the whole house of cards would collapse. Its not a nation, its a empire held together with force.

But now that force has been shown to be mostly a illusion, and what is real is weakening every day.

Putin has made every single mistake that Hitler did. He promised unobtainable results. He micromanaged the military, just like Hitler, but the irony is that the Wermacht were initially fully prepared and supported (but amphetamines only go so far - as a Brit I know). But the similarities between Hitler and Putin cannot be ignored.

Remember, even the tiniest of fractures lead to complete breakages. At this point its not a matter of if; it’s a matter of WHEN.

Even Stalin treated Ukraine like a bunch of outcasts and criminals, disrespected them and criminally decimated the country.

The one thing that needs to be talked about is that the winter is coming. I lived in Anchorage Alaska for 2 years which is roughly the same latitude as both Moscow and St Petersburg they are going to see lows between -30 to -50. with fuel and power no longer reliable it's going to be a harsh winter.

The current situation in Russia has many parallels to the collapse of Czarist Russia of 1917 when she was embroiled in the third year of WW1. It could go..

My question is not HOW but WHEN. I am starting to lose faith in the Russian people.

Prigozhin was a moron. “When you play the game of thrones you win, or you die.” A fictional quote but it illustrates a real principle. Once he started gunning for Moscow Prigozhin was either going to succeed or die. Guarantees of safety are useless.

Russia's biggest mistake was conscription while being the attacking party. Forced conscription like that should only ever be used for a defensive imo.

Good news: Today Ukrainska Pravda reported that Dimitri Kolomeitsev, the man who trained Russia's shahed drone operators (among other crimes) was assassinated in Moscow, presumably by Ukrainian agents.

By forcing so many unwilling conscripts to join the war, and treating them so badly, Russia has created a large body of disaffected people who have military experiebce and are less inclined to follow the state. They have created a potential avalanche for themselves.
