The eighth round of the WRC 2024, 73. Secto Rally Finland 2024, for the longest time looked like the event where Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen could finally achieve their home victory. But unbelievably, despite safely managing the big lead, the pair went off on the final corner of the penultimate stage after hitting a big rock in their driving line. This handed their Toyota teammates Sebastien Ogier and Vincent Landais an unexpected victory on the rollercoaster-like stages around Jyväskylä. Thierry Neuville / Martin Wydaeghe came home second, both of their Hyundai teammates Ott Tänak and Esapekka Lappi already crashed out on Friday. Adrien Fourmaux and Alexandre Coria completed the podium in their M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1.
