In my opinion, the Tedeschi/Trucks band have successfully inherited the mantle vacated by the great Allman Brothers. While the TTB are excellent writers in their own right, their covers constantly take on new lives of their own. “ Helpless “ is no exception. Despite the fact that this version is short, Derek’s solo is soooo tasty and Susan’s vocals speak for themselves. The background vocals were a wonderful addition. Just wish this Boston show and the Layla/Live at Lockin’ were available commercially on dvd.

I love Neil Young ♥️ and he's a hard act to follow, but Tedeschi and Trucks band are no doubt the best blues players around and you make Neil's music beautiful all over again!!
