For the latest Honda Passport pricing and information:

The 2020 Honda Passport slides into the Honda crossover lineup between the large Pilot and the smaller CR-V. Very similar to the Pilot but different enough to warrant its own model, the Passport's two-row five-seat capacity suits a smaller family well. But is there still good cargo room? Is it possible to take the Passport off road? And what about reliability? Is it just as reliable as other Honda cars and crossovers? We'll answer all those questions and figure out its real-world gas mileage. So stay tuned.

"We've (Edmund's)come to a crossroads with the Passport over its infotainment. A system that at first seemed quirky but acceptable has caused major issues of late, and we've learned we're not the only ones with this experience. On separate occasions, with different drivers behind the wheel, the Passport's screen has suddenly stopped functioning in the middle of driving. The audio shuts off, and the touchscreen refuses to respond to commands. This means you lose whatever navigation, multimedia and other information you may have been using, and can't regain control.
Both times it happened, our editors parked the Passport and turned it off for a short break. On one of those occasions, the screen flashed on and would not turn off even as the vehicle stopped running and the doors were locked. We contacted Honda, who brought the car in and issued a service to fix the "running infotainment" problem. The automaker says the fix will be available to owners as an over-the-air update soon (click here to access Honda's owner update site, under 'Software System Updates, ' or here for instructions about over-the-air updates). But it does not solve the initial problem, which is a total shutdown of the infotainment system while the Passport is moving.
This is a frustrating situation for buyers. It does not reflect well on the quality of the Passport's software, and causes a potential distraction hazard at speed. At time of writing, the problem has not occurred in more than two months, and there have been no issues in the short time since Honda completed its service. But we've learned other owners have had similar experiences in Passport, Pilot and Odyssey models. The company is "working to provide market repairs which include software and hardware fixes, " we were told. Unfortunately, that's a hard answer to swallow. We will report back if any further issues arise." — Ryan ZumMallen, reviews editor

HONDA WILL OFFER ONSTAR IN SHARED EVs WITH GM
Barra also reiterated GM’s commitment to building electric vehicles, suggesting GM will not reduce its EV product development programs. She also announced that Honda will make OnStar available in the EVs that GM and Honda are developing together. It’s fascinating to see the growing relationship between the two companies that now involves EVs, AVs and fuel cells. Autoline Daily

I bought a 2019 Honda Passport FWD back in October 2019. It's very quiet and fuel efficient. The 9 speed transmission shifts very smooth. I get around 21 mpg in the city, up to 33 mpg at 70 mph on the highway and 25-26 mpg combined. One major flaw of this car was the infotainment system. It kept shutting down randomly (network communication lost), and the speaker crackled. I had to bring it to the dealer many times to get it fixed, and they finally had to replace the wire harness. It took 4 days to complete the work. Overall it's a great car.

So was there a follow up to the long term testing? Or am I missing it?

These are always fine reviews. We learn more about the car than when you have the car for a week. But calling it long-term and saying you're going to find out how the car holds up over time is simply ridiculous.

Many people have cars for 10 years. Even a lease is for years. How's the car look after that? That's what really separates a good car from a poorly engineered car.

Test drove this a few times and it's a great car. Love all the features you get, but for me it was a bit underpowered. Not to discount the car at all, but for about $5k more you can get into a Telluride SX.

So it’s been a year and still no further reviews or updates. What went wrong?

Lyn will wear it out...
I still rather have the Telluride!

I’d like to know if the infotainment system glitches while using Apple Car Play during your long term test drive. When it happens, you’ll hear a pop through the speakers then all the audio (no radio nor Apple Car Play) doesn’t work, no rear camera view when in reverse, and the screen stays on even after you shut off the vehicle. I’ve taken mine to the dealer three times and had them update the software twice; fingers crossed it stays fixed...

Did they fix the problem of the screen going blank suddenly? That is an issue on my 2019.

STRUCTURE:BODY
Oct 31 2019
In the event of a crash, incomplete body welding may provide inadequate protection to occupants, increasing the risk of an injury.
Summary:
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Pilot and 2019 Passport vehicles. The front frame left and right side upper members may not have been welded completely to the unibody. As such, these vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 219, "Windshield Zone Intrusion."
What should you do:
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicle for missing welds, free of charge. If the vehicle is identified as missing welds, the dealer will offer to repurchase the vehicle or provide a similar replacement vehicle. Owner notification began November 6 2019. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is X6J.

Bummed we don’t get this car in Asia. Honda could really use a more rugged-looking alternative to the softened CR-V.

Is this video for the Pilot or Passport?

Beware...Kelly Bluebook is being paid by Honda, for their thoughts.
1. Honda Passports are not desirable, if you just look at how many (2, 600) per month were selling, before Covid-19 kicked in.
2. Poor sales numbers will cause Honda to stop production, after 7 years, as with the Honda Crosstour (109, 000 units in 7 years).
3. Honda Passport truly rides like a truck and you'll really feel it, when you go on a long trip.
4. The zf=9 speed transmission mated to a push button shifter is an Achilles heel, because it needs a special $300 tool to be shifted in to neutral, if the engine won't start and it needs to be towed. Tow truck drivers do not provide said neutral release tool.
5. Though its AWD is superb it's way over priced ($12, 000), thus poor the sales.

Do you have to take out your phone case to use wireless charging in this car? My Camry and wireless chargers at home work with the case.
