the Russians moving slower actually costed them the entire East Prussian Campaign, their slow and indecisive move presented an opportunity for Hindenburg to concentrate his smaller force against the 2nd army and annihilating them. it would be better if they united these armies and more coordination is placed on the campaign on the advance towards Königsberg and the Vistula River.

1:17 plan 17 wasn’t that bad, particularly bc it wasn’t a battle plan, it was a logistical one. Joffre’s idea was to mobilise so fast, and in conjunction with their allies, to the point where the Germans would struggle to pull a 1870 and beat the French logistically

Russia winning at the battle of Tannenberg is also an interesting POD i think, basically give the Central Powers strategic defeats on all fronts, and tactical defeats on 3 of the 4, while Britain sets up a blockade, so by late 1914/early 1915 it would kinda look like Germany and A-H are screwed and maybe they panic into an early peace.

What if the Warsaw Uprising was able to push back the Germans in WWII in 1944, instead of being suppressed, allowing for the old Polish government to return to Poland instead of the Soviet backed one.
