correction...you've mentioned Malaysian where actually only the Malays (Melayu) must be Muslims according to the constitution, & cannot leave the religion. other races like Chinese & Indian can practise any religion. So, it means not all Malaysians are Muslims.

Again thank you for promoting Malaysia 🇲🇾

Btw Gunung means mountain

I just want to add that while 31st August was declared as National Independence Day, 16th September was declared as Malaysia Day. This was the day where the states in Malayan Peninsula (Perlis, Penang, Perak, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Selangor, Malacca and Negeri Sembilan) and the states in Borneo (Sabah, Sarawak) plus Singapore officially become one Malaysian nation. But Singapore left 2 years later.

Happy Malaysia Day 🇲🇾

I think you should highlight something more important in this specific amazing fact video, such as the tolerance of Malaysians to accept and respect the many religions and cultures that exist in this country. Malaysia is not like Indonesia where its people are diverse but they are still consist of the same race with minority Chinese so unity can still exist easily, meanwhile Malaysia has a large minority groups of Chinese and Indians who have very different skin colours then the Malays and other ethnics in Malaysia and they also brought in their own cultures, traditions and religious practices that very much contrast to the Malays Islamic and aboriginal traditions.

It must be difficult by heart for the Malays to accept the fact that the Chinese and Indians that the British has brought in since colonial times were to become citizens of Malaysia and live together with the local Malays. Living together and sharing the benefits of a citizen with 'outsiders' or foreigners who are very different in many ways are not something easy for any natives in the world to accept and swallow, it's like saying European countries to accept Islamic cultures and practices to coexist there peacefully with the European western cultures and beliefs.

But Malaysia has already made the change of accepting totally different people with different skin colours, cultures and practices to live together and have the same benefits as the locals with huge level of tolerance. Malays, Chinese and Indians are very different from each other but somehow our ancestors and past leaders tolerated everything and worked hard in order to gain independence from the British.

I hope that Europeans or Americans are able to understand that feeling (not the proud feeling during Imperial era) of accepting different people with very different and even disturbing cultures into its society.

The Malays are fluid in nature where since the pre-colonial times, our ancestors were very accepting of external influences such as cultures and religions, the Malays were Hindus and Buddhists mixed with its own local culture and language, focused on building civilization instead of conquering other lands (this includes the then Malay sultanates of Sumatra island), and also we mostly used diplomacy to avoid wars and conflicts (such as with then Siam and Javanese Majapahit kingdoms) while at the same time making trades peacefully with any cultures, this situation can be shown in the history books of the Malacca Empire where many nations from East to West passed by and stopped at Malacca port to make trades, spreading religions or as a stop before heading to East/West.

The Malays hate conflicts and are peaceful people, and we found peace through religions starting from Hinduism, Buddhism and eventually Islam. Although our ancestors were Hindu and Buddhist, the culture remained local without having same cultures as the Hindus and Buddhists of India and China respectively, just like the Hindus in Bali have cultures different to the Hindus in India, except the fact the traditions still follow the religious belief. This is the same as to the now Muslim Malays have different cultures and traditions compared to the Muslims in Arabic countries.

I typed too much, that is all I want to share. The highlight here is high tolerance of the natives of Malaya towards Chinese and Indians. Nowadays, having them means that we are all together in every hardships or happiness, despite our different beliefs and cultures, no prejudice. At least the majority of Malaysians feel that way and practices tolerance together.

Note: I was wrong about Indonesia can gain unity easily, they are way too many people with different cultures and languages there, but I think Islam mostly became a tool and the thought of gaining independence from Dutch rule is the reason for Indonesia's unity.

Dear whoever is reading this,
I wish I could find a way to take all of your sadness away and replace it with happiness. I can't. But I can try. You are worth it. You have entire galaxies within you and an entire life ahead of you. You will do so much and meet so many more people. Keep going. Things will get hard. But they will also get better. Keep smiling. It's okay to cry every once in a while. It's okay to spend time alone. But it's important to keep going. Good luck.
Love,

👉 Melayu is not derived from Melayu River in Sumatera. The earliest record of the word Melayu can be found in 2nd century Claudius Ptolemy World Map describing the Malay Peninsula.

You are very very correct about the sarawak chamber. It is the largest by area surface. Not by volume as calculated by british cave experts in china. They said china has the largest cave by volume. So that leaves vietnam's son doong 3rd? I am not sure.

The constitution of Malaysia does not say that all Malaysians should be Muslim. Thats not correct. Only Malays are Muslims. The other Malaysians are free to worship any religion they want. There are many Buddhist, Taoist, Christians and Hindus in Malaysia. Malaysia is a country with one of the most cosmopolitan population, which makes it a multi religious, multi cultural and a multi racial society.

I am interested in Taoism and have read many books on the religion. Other than China, would Malaysia be a good vacation spot to immerse myself in Taoism? Thank You for all the information you provide.
