Hey micheal74rich,
Yep you are correct! VLAN 12 is local to where the remote HREAP is (and you do not need VLAN 12 on the switch where the controller connects). The authentication may occur on the controller, but then all post-authentication traffic will be sent to the HREAP switch, including DHCP requests... so your DHCP server will also be on the switch local to the HREAP, in the remote office...

its a great video knowledge wise but I felt you were too fast, I would appreciate if you can explain the traffic flow, encapsulation, decapsulation before getting onto a controller or AP or Security, it will hardly take 10 minutes extra .
thank you, you guys do a good Job.

Jerome,
Excellent video, very good explanations, I have a question, If I have 7925s or 7926s, will I need to tell CUCM I am using H-REAP to authenicate ?

Hi Jerome, on your diagram you show a trunk link between the the AP and the Switch which is understandable, however, is it necessary to have it between the switch and the router? If the switch is only Layer 2 then I can understand that the router is on a stick and requires a trunk to route between the local vlans. BUT, if you have a layer 3 switch with a layer 3 connection to the router will this still work? I want to provide guest access for our rig sites and want to the HQ WLC and HREAP AP's

Hi Jerome, I have a doubt. When you have an AP in a branch office, and it is in LightWeight but you haven't configured the AP in HREAP or FlexConnect. How it is registered in the WLC. Is it necessary to include an additional command to configure the FlexConnect along with the trunking in the switch? or the ap looks for its wlc assigning an ip address, a default-gateway and the ip of the controller by console.

Also I will appreciate if you can take a minute to explain what prerequisite knowledge an individual should have before he could understand this completely.
