Crown is perfect for me, stays out of the way while I’m moving and doesn’t stab me in the wrist joint. I’m very active 10 hours of work each day and 45 minutes of HIIT exercise . This type of watch was made for someone like me. A watch should be suited for your personality and lifestyle . When I was a kid I collected swatch watches, when I’m an old man I’ll have grand seikos, Rolex’s, and omegas etc. I drive an Acura so 500 is the most I’ll spend on a watch. If I had a Tesla I would wear a solar, kinetic, or hybrid watch. A collection shouldn’t be about impressing others . Buy what you like and what makes sense .

Just bought the green 4 days ago it's my 1st automatic and my only watch. So far the time has been spot on. I like the size as I have smaller 7 inch wrist I really like it. Have a new band coming today.

Great review. I have mine on a leather nato. I love the watch, though I do wish it is 2mm larger.

I’ve got one and love it! I can dress it up or down depending on the strap. I wear it all the time.

The crown does not 'suck'. It's in direct proportion to the size of the watch; there is a recess near it to help setting the hands, etc. It's set to the 4 'o clock position so it doesn't dig into the wrist, as with the SKX007.
It's my favourite watch out of a small collection of 16.

Sub No. 111 checking in with you. Great review. I love this watch. It was my first foray into automatics and I paid $42!! You can't beat it for the price, a definite "strap monster". I like watches a bit larger in size (like my 007), but I really like having this as a size mix for me. For accuracy, mine is spot on, but my wife's (the tan version) is a bit fast.

The crown is small because you cannot wind the movement with it. Once you set the time, you shouldn't have to use the crown until the odd month which doesn't end in 31 days. If the watch isn't worn every day, it can just be gently shaken a bit to keep it running.

Adjusting: simple use the fingertip from the underside / slightly right angle. Press tip against crown. No need to grip it.

For me the crown is not that terrible though its actually a little bit tricky. Agreed.

The Khaki (Desert Storm) is exactly the same watch line. It a Seiko 5 SNK803 and is identical in all respects apart from dial and strap colour. Entry level....hmmmm. I've had one of these for 14 years. It still works fine and still looks good. Entry level to me means that it is OK, it'll do for now BUT. There are no buts. This is a damned good watch. Why because it does what a $10, 000 watch does. It tells the time.

Does snk809 dont look bulky on that nato?

The tiny crown is 1 of the 5 key features on a Seiko 5.

The crown is fine for a watch that size and unobtrusive.

and this watch uses the exact same movement as the SKX.

A bigger crown would ruin the aesthetics of this watch. Owned SNK-809 for 3 years and have no issues with pulling the crown out or turning in 1+ hour increments when setting. My fingers are no smaller than yours. Maybe you need to practice or just have bad dexterity.
