What are we going to do in the future? Send it to space?

I own a small trash removal and cleaning business and I cannot tell you how much trash only one little condominium community produces at one of my contracts. It is very sad how much we consume and waste on a daily basis.

It’s sad that the greed from countries is so bad that they would rather destroy the environment than reuse trash.

It's really sad to know that a lot of stuff that is meant to be recycled is just getting burnt

Feed it to all the Baby Yodas coming to a store near you this Christmas.
Those little buggers will eat anything.

How about a trash tax for the sellers/producers of the items that later become trash?
That would also reduce the redundancy issue where items are intentionally made to break just so you have to buy another one soon after.

Question: where does trash go
Answer: the black hole that is the bottom of my backpack

Wowwww, I was hesitant to search this topic, but i am glad i did. This is appalling!! We will need to go back to a farmland type of life and start composting and we need to also think about making it mandatory that we recycle. Everyone should have to also be required to volunteer at a recycling center once or twice a year to literally deal with our $h!t!!

He said in a previous video that a landfill the size of the smallest state (Rhode Island) could hold all of the worlds garbage from now to the next hundred years.

first of all, thank you for covering this topic. it needs to be talked about often.
having said that, there is no "conundrum".
the "economy" is a human construct born of ego and vanity.
the environment allows all life to exist.
human beings must produce, buy, use and waste less on a regular basis.
and they need to clean up the mess they've already made over the past couple hundred years.
how 'bout ya build a new economy doing that?

Thanks for bringing some awareness to this issue. Another way to reduce our trash use is to create a national holiday where all visible trash cans are hidden or locked up. This could help remind ourselves how much waste we actually produce in one day. Restaurants/Stores should accept home brought containers/cups on this one day to show their support for our environmental trash delima. Refresh Day, Restart Day, Compost Day?? Something's there..

Reducing the waste.
1) Use less packaging.
2) Make more durable products which don't break that often.
3) Use your own cloth bags instead of plastic/paper bag from grocery store.
4) No plastic/styrofoam packaging.
5) Try to reuse/ repurpose before throwing it away.
6) Simple lifestyles.
7) Strict rules to approve a product if proper disposal isn't defined.

Process waste.
1) Compost your own organic material at home or community level if possible.
2) How about try to recycle yourself. May be collect all your plastic and put into a small/safe shredder or melt it.
This will need some creativity/invention.
3) Compact the waste, and dump it in deep underground wells.
4) re use abandoned mines ?
5) Trash sorting by efficient machines.
6) Trash sorting by prisoners, may be by school kids?

Be a responsible consumer, hold big corporations accountable, don’t buy something you don’t need or won’t make the best use of, and do more research on the corporations you’re investing your money into because they are mostly responsible for this issue. There’s plenty of things you can read/watch online that go in depth and explain what that means so I won’t. Just by educating yourself not only will you make better decisions that the planet is in desperate need of but you will save so much more money.
