I've been a guitarist for 40 plus . I played guitar and drums age 7 to 13. I gave up drums at age 13.to concentrate on guitar. I know basic beats and I play easy to play beats on my own music ( on my channel)... You are a amazing teacher! I'm learning things I never thought I could do. You are a great player and teacher! Thank you so much for making these videos! I learn so much...❤

I can't explain how much I appreciate your videos as a freshly hatched drum teacher that is trying to figure out how to explain stuff to kids. Thanks! ❤️🙌

You know it's good content when it's stuff you already know in your sleep but you watch it anyway just to appreciate and enjoy the teaching style 👌🏻

EDIT - I used to hang onto the etc" thing but honestly embracing the frankly more intuitive fractional naming system is liberating.

I used to play the drums just for a hobby and then I ended up in the dancing world... you have no idea how useful this video would be for a lot of dancers out there who dance a 4/4 piece as if it was in 9/11.5 😅

Understanding notes are quite easy for me, but I have always had a problem with identifying tha 'bar' just by listening. It always seemed kinda random to "mark it off" in that specific way.

At least those terms are quite self-explanatory, compared to crotchet, quaver, etc. :)

The one place where I like that fancy terminology is the Pick-up Song game from ISIHAC, IYKWYM. (Just a Minim is also great of course ;)

I often put myself into bars and pretty soon everything seems to make perfect sense ....

Great video as ever. However, the notes become shorter, not faster.
