Thank you for choosing my video for a little bit of fun! Unfortunately, sometimes you have to lend an ear (or an eye) to things that are most definitely not fun. And that does mean being in attendance to listen to at least this first paragraph!

The family I am promoting with Operation Olive Branch is so close to making their goal. They're currently at €38, 344!!! Yousef, Ahmed, Salah, Ibtihal, Samah, Alam, Omaya, and Yousef are so so close to leaving the genocide that is taking place around them and getting medical attention! The goal is to evacuate to Egypt where they can get the necessities they need, including a father needing medical attention for a neck disc problem and a stroke. Evacuating a family of 8, including 2 children under 4, is unfortunately not cheap--but if it means their safety in a genocide against their people, I hope we can collectively help put even a little bit of money towards getting them out and safe and reunited with family!

An update on this family from June 19:

Just two weeks ago, our house—the home where we were born and where we lived our lives, surrounded by love and memories—was destroyed by the occupation. They didn't just tear down walls; They tore apart the very essence of our past, taking away every treasured memory. That was our haven, our beloved home. Now, the thought of returning is a distant, shattered dream. My family now endures life in a tent, vulnerable to the merciless blaze of the summer sun. The scorching heat is relentless, a constant torment. We are not just grappling with the oppressive temperatures, but also with the shortages of food and medicine and the crippling high prices that everyone here must bear. Our suffering is heartbreaking, and we are left to struggle in a world that has turned its back on our pain.

- Buy secondhand, refurbished technology! Boycotting big tech (Dell, Apple, HP, etc), as they are HUGE for causing and perpetuating the unethical mining practices, to show support for vulnerable humans!
- Learn about Congo, the DRC, the silent genocide, the war economy, modern-day slavery, unethical mining practices even children are subjected to, and many more atrocities. Countries in the West have funded militia groups to keep the DRC vulnerable because of the TRILLIONS of dollars of natural resources. Please go to TikTok for bite-size information if you must, but PLEASE do not wait for it to present itself to you! And PLEASE, organize with your community, or even go to Facebook to see if there's any community action you can take to let your government and your representatives listen to OUR COLLECTIVE VOICES instead of the voice of money and greed!
- Over in the DRC, sexual assault is used as a weapon, as a tactic. One of the reasons the world was able to engage in learning about to begin freeing the Palestinian people is the abundance of videos shown of Isr*el's brutality. Blood, gore, things nobody wants to see. But in the DRC, these images and videos of sexual assault against children as young as INFANCY obviously cannot be circulated. Not that it should take gore and terrible images to be circulated for people to pay attention; there is a level of dehumanization that plays a significant role. The fact that any of that is almost necessary for people to pay attention to the brutality faced by black and brown people, in comparison to the NONE that was needed for the world to support Ukraine, is appalling.
- "The DRC has witnessed the highest number of grave violations against children in armed conflict in the world for a second year in a row in 2022, with at least 2, 420 children suffering from 3, 377 verified violations such as killing, maiming, abductions and sexual violence."
