It probably doesn’t help that this is the book I was listening to when I crashed my car. 🫠 #books #reading #shelfcontrol #bookshelforganization #bookshelf

I read a diet book disguised as a novel when I was a kid and I’m still weirdly bitter about it.

Camille sounds like she's suffering from a pretty severe depression and some small lifestyle changes won't fix that.
So no, wanting a fictitious character to fail does not make you a bad person, just realistic. I would absolutely love to read a novel like this that ends in the main character getting real help. Either from the start and then we see her working through all that and getting better or trying all this stupid stuff and realizing it just doesn't help. Camille and many other protagonists need therapy.

I I am currently conquering a book that has been on my TBR the longest. Unfortunately, I’m not enjoying it very much… but I got a book from the library and I can’t wait to read it!

"this year I'm going to read the books I already own before buying more" **my friend buying me a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card for my birthday** **my mother realizing that she accidentally has been paying for my book of the month subscription for 10 months and so having 10 credits to get more books delivered** **new books coming out this year in 3 seriess I'm obsessed with**

Project Shelf Control has really inspired me to do the same. Not to say I haven't been buying books 😅, but I'm defiently going through ny TBR pile more than I'm buying so that's a win 😁

First book of the year was from my shelf: House of Salt and Sorrows. Absolutely loved it!
Next is a reread of Howl's Moving Castle so I can read the rest of the trilogy. Howl's is one of my top 5 fave books.

Reading and in some cases rereading through the animorphs series, cause as an adult I can do what I want ❤

Tbh, I adore intentional focus on reading what you’ve got. With the neurodivergence, it’s super easy in rough periods to a) want a quick dopamine fix (ie swing by the thrift shop for more books) and b) find it impossible to get myself to read.

When I do read, I read very quickly. I’ll unfortunately willingly go sleep deprived because I *could* put the book down and sleep. . . Or I could just keep reading and make it future me’s problem 😅.

I’ve been practicing a lot with being comfortable reading a set # of chapters, and then the book goes down till the next day. I’m doing it with favorite books I’ve read so many times I could recite them, so I don’t have the “but I have to know what happens” factor influencing things. It’s not been easy, and I don’t always succeed.

I'm finally getting back into reading physical books after awhile, and so far I've read "the song of Achilles" and I'm now reading "the sunbearer trials", both of which I already owned. I think I'm doing pretty good 😁

Ishmael. A telepathic gorilla gives life lessons to a man that answered an ad in a newspaper.
It opened my eyes to new perspectives more than a radical shift in lifestyle.

Being a gray-haired old lady, I'm reading a novel by Rosamunde Pilcher that's been on my shelf for a long time, as well as The Hunchback of Notre Dame and My Name is Barbra.

I’m doing the same. Reading books I already own. Rereading some and trying to decide if I will keep them, sell them, or place in a free little library.

So far for this year I've read Piranesi, which was an absolutely fantastic book. Technically never made it to my shelf before I started reading it (it was a Christmas present). Still trying to decide on what to read next.

It’s kind of nice being out of money right now cause I actually have to read the books I already own rather than buying new ones constantly. Although my family knows that I love books and keep buying them for me, which makes it even better.
