Chicago Board of Education resigning; new appointments to be announced Monday

The entire Chicago Board of Education will resign effective this month, WGN News has learned. Johnson will announce seven new appointments to the Board of Education on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Sweet Holy Spirit Church on South Chicago Avenue, according to his office.

I usually support the mayor but this is not looking good. The union presidents wants all schools to stay open, in spite of some schools being almost EMPTY. Those should be closed. Why are you paying a principal 150, 00 a year, engineers, security, lights teachers salary etc. for schools that are not functioning as educational institutions? There is NOTHING going in in these schools. They are 3/4 EMPTY. It does not make sense to me.
