►Some words about - Band's words:
“BECRAH” were created by individuals willing to express themselves through the black metal music genre. The content of our lecture and practice stands, above all, against ideologies that are frequently (yet considerably) obvious in black metal, such as nationalistic, racist, sexist, fascist and many more sharing of authoritarian nature. The same principles apply to the "impartial" indifference and tolerance of many individuals that form (or are formed by) elitist rationale and dividing interpretations of the world, consisting of a problematic condition inside the scene.
Our principle is that the “creator” and the “creation” are not separate entities; they are connected in a breathing relationship, like the relation that we wish to achieve with the individuals that we are projecting our art to, the content of which is under a constant consultation and self-criticism. Thus, we are not willing to separate our ways of expression from our ideological characteristics and beliefs.
The audio realization of the music took place expressing a collective mindset, in order for all of our members to equally decide for each songs final form. Following the same tenets we evaluated the meaning of the lyrics, visual artwork and the actual procedures of audio recording.
Our goal is to express ourselves through the music that we adore, utilizing an anti-commercial and anti-hierarchical way of thinking (both individually and collectively), to a point agreeable to each band member, as well as to form bonds with people, bands and collectives sharing the same values of the D.I.Y. culture as ourselves. Through the same point of view, in more practical issues (e.g. band practice and possible physical, digital and/or alternative form of our albums presence) we are still in search for the best ways that come along with the self-management and self-organization, hoping to conceive and achieve an ideal method of realization in the near future.
In particular, music-wise and release-wise regarding our material, we choose distros and labels that support each other in the context of the values and the way of thinking mentioned above. The same goes for the venues we choose for our live performances, because our choice has to do not only with the ways these places/venues operate, but also with the nature of relations built in these places. And we are referring to the orientation of associations that develop between musicians, the active members of each self-organized project, the people participating as well as the ways used by everybody to strengthen, move, discuss and influence each other through these relations.
