Unofficial Mycorrhizal Fungi field trial 2016. Part 1.

If Mycorrhizal Fungi dose what it says on the packet I can't wait to see the results of this trial. Potatoes, carrots, beans & onions, all get a dusting of Mycorrhizal Fungi in this field trial. Lets see some symbiosis in action resulting in a bigger better root mass.

Hello! Yes Mycorrhizal Fungi are as awesome as that packet states. However any compost of any value will already be colonized by it. Case in point, notice how at 6:45 the roots are covered with dirt. That's the Fungi at work colonizing the soil around the root so that they stick together like that.
The upshot is that you will not likely see any benefit to RootGrow because it's plain your soil is already colonized by it.

Nice experiment, I'll keep an eye on this. Might I suggest that you consider popping those cups into some similar sized opaque ones? I think the light will inhibit root growth and encourage algae. Thoroughly enjoying the vids, thanks for all your work.

i will definitely be carefully watching how your experiment works out.. my thought are based on brassicas, as I have a bit of club root.it would be silly of me to think this could beat club root, but I have other ideas in mind. ( fingers crossed ) good vid mate.

Micro rhizome fungi should be applied on the seeds just after germination. light inhibits root growth.

Mycorrhizal produces some great results, but as you have found good for brassicas. Onions seem to do well at the potting on stage 👍

When you plant in the 10" pots, are there any holes in the bottom of the pot ? Andy

I checked this out on Google and although sites mentioned it being OK for potatoes and carrots, none mentioned parsnips. I would think it would be OK, don't you?
