How Realistic Are Karting Simulators?

Take this from someone with limited karting knowledge. I don't confess to be an expert in karting, just sharing my thoughts from my experiences last year.

Great job! If I may (as a kart racer of 20+ years): Try to keep your wheel straight and SMOOTH, as few corrections as possible. Don't be afraid to use your front faring/bumper (to keep close and rattle the person in front of you - most overtaking is done when small mistakes are made by driver ahead) and hit the apexes HARD - the kart WILL hold better than you think. Modern karts also do well with trail braking, when necessary. Most importantly, unlike in car racing, if you do not see the kart next to you, do NOT worry about giving room when you approach a corner. The person behind you will shoot any gap you give them and they are expecting you to TAKE he apex, if you have a wheel on them. So, if you have a wheel, you have the corner. Also, since your heart rate will climb (if you let it), try to remain as calm as possible. Calm = smooth & fast. You were quick enough, in that race, to have easily made podium.

G force part is why driving the real thing is something special. I want to see how close simulators can come to that in the future.

Hey Jimmy, Geelong is pronounced with a soft g and despite how it's spelt, the e sound is short, not unlike "gif", so like "jilong", with the stress on the second syllable. Cheers

This track is located near where you come off of the bridge that goes to and from Melbourne. Nice to see it in this Sim.

As I remember it, flicking the kart into the corners worked better on the older 2 strokes that didn't have any kind of clutch on the engine. When I went to Rotax, it didn't work as well, they tended to bog down a little with that style. Took a little while to get used to it but it worked as good practice for moving into cars.

I freakin love KartKraft, and we should see Multiplayer support coming pretty soon, aim I think is late jan / early feb but who knows, so excited for that! I just wanna race my cousin and show him this old dog can still... drive? xD I think this is some of the best sim experience available right now and can only get better.

The karts not having a shadow looks kinda weird. Not sure if the graphics were turned down, otherwise the devs should definitely add shadows.

Loving Kartkraft after seeing it on here many moons ago, as you say inputs need to be perfect - you might see what line you want, but following it smoothly is another story! Just noticed you had the default Kart, you can actually 'buy' the proper ones in game without any racing - and they do kinda differ from one another - might be worth giving a go! Now to see if I can retake my 10th National place on that insane last track!

i like kartkraft .... but a dam good alternative which is often overlooked is the shifter karts in automobilista ....
and the kart track buskerud is a blast !
