This is so sad that the Church is no longer being used to worship God. What surprises me is that the Vicars do not try to take advantage of the opportunity to share the gospel amongst all those people that are there....

It is clear that the people do not read their Bible and do not take the Word of God serious any more. When I was still young a Reverent said we must live according to the fact what Jesus would say if he suddenly returns. Would we be in the position to assent into Heaven with Him or would we cry to the Mountains to cover us? This Church reminds me of what the Gospels say about Jesus's Life when he chased the people out of the Temple using a whip saying : Matthew 21:13 "It is written, " he said to them, "'My house will be called a house of prayer, ' but you are making it 'a den of robbers.'" Once this is done the Spirit of God will leave the community never to return.

That is really cool.  I pray the hearts of the English return to Jesus Christ and they begin to fill those churches.

I'm 30 and much prefer the old look. It's ruined, if you ask me.

When that 800 year old church was built, it was a Roman Catholic Church.

Call it what you like but yoga classes and secularization of a church to make it "contemporary" is desecration and de-sacralization. To the church I say - "To thine own self be true". Maintain who you are, and who you are is the English Church.

The church wasn't a "sort of sacred space that only a special few could go into" - it was open to ALL - everyone who chose to BELIEVE. This woman's rationalization is blatantly against what any Christian church actually IS. I think the whole report is horrible. And by the way, the Church of England is no longer a Christian religion.

It all depends on what the community of committed Christians do with the space and those who visit. If they use it to initiate conversations, form communities and lead people to the Gospel, then the church goes forward. If those with faith remain quite, it becomes an eviscerated whitewashed tomb. The choice is really quite clear, no?

Aren't those properties technically the property of the Roman Catholic Church?

Takes the heart away from the church. A little disrespectful to the house of god
