RIP to my M2 Max Mac Studio 🪦

When Apple released this computer last summer it was EXACTLY the upgrade that I needed and the fact it paired so well with the studio display was a no brainer…

but then fast forward 5 MONTHS and Apple decided to drop the M3 Max MacBook Pros! 😂😭

Lately I’ve been editing video more on the MacBook and it is NOTICEABLY faster than even my Mac Studio so, I’m making the switch completely.

Anyone in the market for a Mac Studio?? 😂😂😂😂

It is insane to me that people just be getting rid of computers at the rate that we do. As ouch as I enjoy the scene, it is so wasteful and it’s kind of a toxic mindset that people have been adopting that it’s normal to spend thousands on a computer every 6 months - 1yr that a new product drops with marginally better specs. I could understand the hype when switching from Intel to Apple silicon, but my M1 Max Mac Studio is probably going to be my desktop for at least 3-5 more years.

The way when apple released the M4 chip on then iPad was so weird like they released the M3 in october 2023

It’s sad how expensive this stuff is yet how quick people replace it. Always trying to get the best won’t make you happy, you should appreciate and enjoy what you have or at the very least, think before you buy and be patient, you know they’ll release something better so don’t impulse buy the first thing you see 🤷

IMO, Apple outdid themselves with the M1 chip! Heard everything from speed issues, performance issues, etc. with M2 and M3 chips.

I’m still on an M1 mini and M1 Air and they’re just as fast as when I got them.

M3 is actually a bad chip. Apple forced TSMC to make it while they ware still builidng their 3nm assembly line. The reason was Qualcome. Apple wanted to be first at 3nm and they rushed it. This is why M3Pro and Max model have some issues (you can look them up). This is why M4 came so fast and they are not makeing m3 ultra. The Studio is going to be re-freshed directly to M4. M3 was just a stop gap they put out to keep Qualcome from taking initiative. M4 is their true 3nm as they fixed the bugs.
