The issue with this is a lot of people's paycheck goes 70, 80, 90, even 100% to needs.

50% for the necessities? Wrong century. Majority of people go way beyond that JUST for the necessities.

70% usually pays for just rent and bills. A reality check needed for this guru 🎉

I’m 20, 3rd year in college, have a full time job. Living with my parents. 80% goes to high yield savings.

When 50% of my pay isn’t enough to cover half of my rent…

Thanks for the advice. But I think it only applies for those with high income. For low income people, mostly 80% goes to Needs and 20% goes to debt payments 🥺

Very good advice! One thing i struggle with as my pay changes so much on month per month bases, so some months big lump sums and others not really enough

I don't think my landlord would like it very much if I only used 50% of my income to pay rent

for bills rent food you spend maybe 60-70% of your paycheck. Then you spend the rest on your car insurance+fuel. That 5% that you can save will build up to like 300 bucks overtime and you will have to spend it all due to some unexpected payment (ex. car repair).
