Today's Patron Question is from Matthew Broussard:
"Well, I work at Ivy Tech and have decided to take some classes this fall in the new Informatics program they've got going. I'm interested in the Human-Computer Interaction/Interface side of things. I know Informatics is part of your educational background so any tips from the real-world on things to learn for HCI/Informatics would be helpful."

I am a organizational leadership major and interested in technology. I have sold cloud services software the last 15 years. I am taking an informatics class. I enjoyed your informatics video and will share your link with my informatics class and professor Dr. Blome at Mercer University.

Thanks for covering this. I'm informatics with minors in Mech Eng and Physics. I have a lot to explain to people. I am constantly saying "If we do a good job, we are putting ourselves as close as possible to being out of work." Others don't get it.

This video was perfect. I just finished my bachelors in Technology. It's just like how you described it. I took IT course but also business classes to complete my degree. This is awesome, especially when I go to job interviews, I can use word the informatic to explain my degree. Great post!

Great info! I never heard about informatics and I too spend most of my day behind a few computers, just posting random stuff of my 'artistical' life. I don't care for money, so what I post is scruffy, but I do ask myself how I could connect into the web more 'business-wise', trying to find that aspect in IT where I can combine all the fields I cover in life.

I am not sure if I should pursue informatics as major. I'm fascinated by technology, but not really a huge fan of programming. I like working with numbers and thinking about why specific information are important. Also, I want to deal with business in some ways but don't want to pursue a business degree because I think it's not that useful. For that reason, I am thinking of minoring in business (accounting or management). Do you think this is the right major for me? Thank you!
