Join me LIVE for my upcoming talk: "Was Jesus an Apocalyptic Prophet?" on March 21st at 2 PM Eastern at the Biblical Studies Academy (BSA)!

I'll explore the scholarly history of this idea, how apocalypticism shaped early Christianity, and what the New Testament tells us about Jesus’ prophetic message. After a short presentation, we’ll have an open Q&A—so bring your questions!

He was white, with long blonde hair and a blonde beard, blue eyes, 6 foot 1, spoke English, and had a halo. He had long flowing robes and sandals and carried an M-16 with a grenade launcher. He was not woke. There you go.

We have DNA from the ancient Levant, he would have been like your typical Lebanese, Syrian, Palestinian...etc.

Jesus must have looked just like your average Semite Palestinian... was not a European. Does it make any difference? He was just a nice guy spreading a little peace if he existed at all. If you watch the life of Brian get to know a lot more about him than you get with your bible.

I have a faint memory that Robert Temple (who wrote 'A New Science of Heaven') said in some text or interview that there were some contemporary Jewish source that had described Jesus as "short stocky and charismatic".

One of the main characters in White Lotus is a religious studies major at Chapel Hill so she would have had you and Bart for professors. Haha.

I have watched a lot of videos over the past few years. While Bart became my favorite author when I studied, like this video, I learn from researching the topic.

As a basket case, he does not have a commanding appearance.
nor appearance that would attract us to him. (Isa 53:2 NABO)

It is not about what he looked like. His sacrifice is a broken spirit, not being brutally murdered. He is the child sacrifice, the scapegoat with the inherited burden of sin placed on him as the Red Dragon stood over the woman about to give birth. He born in a barn, spiritually destitute. The abomination of desolation is set up in himself. He is the temple without one stone left standing upon another after being made-to-be-sin by the wrath of the sacrificial lamb when he is counted among the wicked or the Lawless One, when he comes as the Anti-Christ. The wrath of the lamb is antithetical to the nature of Christ.

He is a basket case of a baby floating in the reeds. It causes him to be spurned and avoided. It is why he says of himself "I am a worm, hardly human". He is accustomed to infirmity. We are not talking about the Jesus with five thousand people coming to listen to him speak. That one is an amalgamation of the warrior Messiah and the suffering servant Messiah of the two appearances within the same generation.

Probably the brown eyed handsome man bit,
Enoch and Ezekiel both had visions of God
Ezekiel spoke of God being from the waist down as fire 🔥 the burning bush and Moses,
I had a voice in my head that said,
I Am As A Man Ss You From The Waist Up,
And a voice in my head asked,
Could I cry for my savior dying for me ?

According to his earliest known depiction, he had a donkey's head. It was anti-Christian graffiti.

Why would an atheist study Jesus Christ as a bible scholar? For money?

Well for sure he didn't look like a Nordic ski racer in funny clothes as he has been so usually depicted for centuries.

Looked like pure speculation in any number of vivid, overactive imaginations.

Handsome fella, dimples around the cheeks; hair lush enough to make the Kardashians blush; did plenty of calf raises, sit ups, and yoga - flexible in body and mind; had eyes that would make Pharisees blush on the Sabbath; and possessed an appendage as such it would make Genghis Khan skip to the kitchen to make him a sandwich.

Jesus might've looked like a young Yasser Arafat.

He was middle eastern, so he obviously looked middle eastern. It's so weird that a lot of Christians have painted him (literally and figuratively) otherwise! As far as I know white people have made him white and African Americans have made him African, even though middle eastern people don't look like either of these groups! I wonder how Jesus would feel, having people who worship him, wipe away his identity for the sake of their own egos?!

I felt so betrayed finding out as a kid that Jesus wasn't white, because I knew I had unintentionally betrayed him by not honouring who he truly was (in all ways). I'm no longer Christian, but even now the idea of this still sickens me! We're all aware of racism, and yet this behaviour continues!

Art? ! Really? No other descriptions? I'm guessing he looked like most middle eastern men at the time. You know, the time before western incursions!
