I was a caregiver to my elderly parents and my grandmother for 17 years from 1992 to 2009 until their deaths. I’m an only child. I’m 62 now. Never married and never had children as a result of being a caregiver. I received not a cent of financial benefits while caring for my loved ones.

There needs to be a pay plan for every waiver type, not just some.

My daughter receives the NOW Waiver in Georgia. I have no caregiver or home healthcare aid presently. They do not last long, and they do not do good work. Too much theft, tardiness and same excuses.

I think we need to make this available more easily. I'm taking care of an aging parent and not getting paid, because the other parent is still working full time. Yet I wouldn't be able to convince the parent who is working to pay me for this care, nor will the government. I take the parent to all their appointments, and provide 24/hour care. I've tried doing Instacart, and rushing back home, but that's hit and miss with any job being available or even to provide any income. I need to find an online job that can provide but they are either hard to find, or I am not skilled for the job, or too many hours needed in a row, etc.

I still don't get how just like this job where the person chooses who will care for them also the SSI payees or ( Tutor's) don't get paid is a job every month pay and take a person to the office and every year fill out form and if payee also receive the same benefits and don't answer the other person immediately they hold your check not theirs when they don't even pay you is not a every day thing but they don't pay anything a all . Social security can use the same offices because as a 2 or 3 days caregivers and they can make money too for monitoring SSI recipients

I receive a benefit in my country for looking after my mother with Alzheimer's. Its not much but its better than nothing as it is my only form of income at present. Obviously they check out your financial particulars before giving you the money. Also not allowed to travel overseas for more than a month as it will get cut.

My mom just has her regular insurance through Humana and then she has Medicare, can I still get paid to take care of her? She lives only on SS, which isn’t much for her at all, and she’s struggling to pay her bills, she lives in her own home. I drive over after work everyday to help care for her.

I consider this a conflict of interest since I PERSONALLY WITNESSED PEOPLE NEGLECTING their own mothers and they died. The state did nothing.

My mother is working at Publix.
18 operations and having knee replacement coming up. She will be out of work.
I take care of the house her car and her trips to Dr. and cook clean a whatever.
She need the job or we will be sunk. She sits down at this job.
Will that affect this if I want to do it ?

I was a caregiver for my father, who was a caregiver for his mother, my grandma. I did most of the work, but he helped a lot. He died last December, and now I'm grandma's caregiver. She owns two homes, but one has a big mortgage, and she has no money. She had not added me to her will which bothers me, but it is what it is. I wouldn't charge her. She raised me in place of a mother, but I wish there was more help. I make what should be a decent living, but with inflation, I'm in the hole between every paycheck.

The thing is you won't get paid time and a half for overtime in NYC. I don't know for other places. They'll probably and additional 1 per hour over 40 hrs worked.
