[Sony A1] Ninja V Downscaled 8K + Zeiss Loxia 35mm

Testing the 8K to 4K downscaling "hack" (not the RAW 4.3K) that is possible using the A1 with the Atomos Ninja V (the camera's internal 4K recording is lineskipped, not downscaled). Interestingly, when I did a side by side comparison of the native 8K files recorded internally (and then downscaled to 4K in Resolve) with the same downscaled take in 4K recorded externally, the Ninja V downscaled shot actually appears *slightly* sharper. I think it's because the 8K feed sent to the Ninja to downscale might not have the noise reduction applied to it that Sony applies to all internal recordings and which you cannot disable.

Zeiss Loxia 35mm f.2 lens (stopped down to f/2.8)
Sony Alpha 1 in 8K mode
ISO 4000
Recorded with the Atomos Ninja V in ProRes HQ

Really nice work. I saw you shot a few videos with the Komodo earlier on and not mostly a1. Curious to hear your thoughts on the the a1 compared to the Komodo image wise. I've used and loved my Komodo for several years but am intrigued by the usability (ibis, autofocus, weight) of the tiny Sony cameras. Do you find using the Ninja V is essential?

Amazing video! Thank you for sharing! The Sony a1 will always be my all time future camera.😢

Are those star burst flares created because of the Loxia!? Looks really sharp 👌

Grrrr, internal image correction can be annoying. My shopping list includes a ninja. I can't even get 10bit without one.
Are you getting those nice star points on the car headlights by manipulated the iris, or is there some other method? I don't understand how to get them without a small iris opening. They look fantastic!

Hey, very nice videos. When you record PoRes externally (not Raw), is the in-camera noise reduction bypassed?
