Former prime minister Scott Morrison says Melania Trump’s statement on the assassination attempt of her husband was “meaningful”.

Ms Trump posted a statement on X on the shooting at her husband’s rally.

“When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realised my life, and Barron’s life were on the brink of devastating change,” she said in her statement.
