It has cables to rout the hdmi to the front of the case for VR. IIRC the bracket is so you can rout them to the back of the case instead.

So instead of having 2xhdmi at the front and 3dp+1hdmi at the back, you can have 3dp and 3hdmi at the back. (If you are running 6 screens for example).

As far as the 1080 vs pro duo, i would take the 1080. Having an sli/crossfire card means that performance halves in some games when the support is bad/missing.
