I have a theory that this song is about Riley’s journey in the first subnautica, with the female voice being the sea empress. Because the, “she past a golden crown” sounds like the cure. And line where he says, “but still her words fall apart” could be Riley’s distrust in her call.

The fact that the song says " Once I was falling asleep, awake but in a DREAM", I personally think that is more proof to the theory that the first Subnautica is all just a dream. The aurora never crashed, Riley never entered the escape pod and the mystery of the Degasi was solved. It was an engine failure. That's pretty POG.
