Why Trump Rescinded Philadelphia Eagles’ Invitation to White House

We're learning more about why the Philadelphia Eagles were uninvited to the White House. Instead of the visit, there was a celebration of the national anthem. Originally 81 players and staff from the Super Bowl champs said they'd attend, but at the last minute, less than ten of them planned to show up! The team is hitting back today, pointing out that not a player took a knee during last season's anthem controversy. #InsideEdition

If I were being made to look like a fool by a football team that backs out at the last minute only to have my picture taken with a mascot and 3 or 4 players I would of cancelled the event myself. I dont blame president Trump for that decision.

Yes I have read there is a decline in recruits due to the strong economy and the quality of recruits has shrunk for our young people considered eligible. Many factors play into it .

NFL players get paid a lot of money to play football for the fans who buy tickets to watch football. Players can use other platforms to Express their views. Keep politics out of the game of football. Too many Americans died to defend this country Together we Stand for our national anthem 🇺🇸

Trump had the chance to really look like the bigger person here. He could have welcomed the Eagles folks who *wanted* to come with a huge celebration - made everyone see that none of this was personal or petty. Instead he crossed his arms, stomped his feet, and said (just as the petulant child he is) “if I can’t have the party I want, then no one gets a party!”. So he “disinvited” the Eagles 🙄 and had a weird little mini 4th of July without any of the fireworks or sparklers or fun.

Great call by Trump to cancel the Eagles invitation. Since the Eagles tried to embarrass Trump by sending only a few players, this move will come back to haunt this organization for a long time. I predict the Eagles will not make the playoffs in this coming 2018 season. Not only will they not make the playoffs, they will have a losing season. They will finish last in their division. Fans will boycott their own team and players will turn on each other in the locker room this year. This will be a disaster season for the Eagles. They will use injury as their reason or excuse for having a lousy season. Watch it happen.

I don't think that is a White House event! The football team is like having a ball with celebrities at the White House. I would like to see less of this mischief of wealthy clowns absorbed in our goverment. I'm glad Trump canceled, and for respect of all Americans I hope Trump never allows this event to continue in the future. Football players do not belong in our White House. It's not classy and seems cheap for entertainment. I didn't vote for Trump but this is our president. I'm sick of the disrespect which is reason enough to shut the event down permanently.
