Hey, fam! Can you believe we're rounding out a full year of #CleanRoutine2019? We really finished strong this year, keeping an eye toward ingredients and brand integrity, and trying to see if switching to an entirely "clean" beauty routine really made a difference. So, did it?

I’m transitioning to clean beauty and your channel has helped me immensely! I’m a cosmetologist and used to mainstream highly pigmented products and when I tried clean makeup it was expensive and didn’t work for me so it was hard to find good products that were holy grails instead of meh. I appreciate your moderate perspective on clean beauty and most of all your very honest and thorough opinions and letting us know what ingredients are in these products so we can all make informed decisions.

A quote from my innovation professor:
"In order to succeed, we need to fail a few times."
This entire clean journey that we went on with you this year really put this quote into perspective for me. I hope to keep on learning with and from you in 2020 and beyond! Happy new years and have fun at home with the your family! 💜💜

I never read the claims on the front of a package. I immediately flip it to the back and read the ingredients and assess that. Thanks Kackie for helping break the ingredients down and the practical reviews this year! 😊

Agree with all of this... clean has become a marketing ploy just like “all natural” in food packaging.

Loved this video! Really highlighted a lot of what I feel about “clean” beauty. There are a lot of “no” ingredients I feel comfortable using (like preservatives or retinol in proper amounts). Likewise, there are a lot of “clean” ingredients I avoid (like essential oils or coconut oil). Skincare and makeup are so personal when it comes to preferences and values. For me, I want to know that a brand is doing their best to choose science-backed ingredients known to be good for skin and not harmful to the planet. And that they’re being mindful of sustainable packaging and sourcing ingredients responsibly. Most brands aren’t going to be perfect—I just want to feel confident that they’re making a solid effort while making effective products.

Came for the clean beauty recommendations, stayed for the 10/10 personality and the fact that I would look like a complete fraud if I stopped watching the only YouTuber that I've ever recommended to anyone and those dozens of people asked about it later... can't have that on my conscience - you're worth the views miss Kackie

YES!!!! Finally someone that understand the middle of the road struggle!!! You are the first person I have heard that is honest about "clean" beauty and "bad" ingredients that are still in our products.

I started watching your channel early on in the year and it really changed my routine. I find I mostly use clean products on the daily and my skin has improved drastically. Using more oils has taken my dry and crusty skin that pretty much every product flaked on and made it much easier to deal with.

Clean routine 2019 was a success for me.

The whole idea of perfectionism in any area of life is just so crippling. And when we start holding other people to our idea of perfection it just goes to an even darker place. And I agree, we’re here for you and your personality. It’s way more enjoyable to watch someone real learn about something anyway.

I really love when you take a brand like Hourglass and really examine the ingredients

Thank you so much for this down to earth honest video. I went into clean beauty thinking I had to be a purist and no mainstream conventional products can be in my collection. I arrived at the same point you did in finding that some of the clean beauty products just did not perform well. So I am no longer purist about what I put on my skin. I like mindful cruelty free makeup. So here's to following you into a new decade. Love you.

I’ve always enjoyed your practical, honest approach to makeup. I have bought SO many things you’ve recommended and I have been happy with all of them. I am in my late 50s and your “style” of makeup works so well for me. Please keep doing what you’re doing! Thanks for all your hard work!

I love your channel Kackie and I learned so much alongside you about “clean beauty” over the course of this year. I have 100% come to appreciate brands that care about ingredients and sustainability and I know going forward that your channel will continue to feature “mindful” products and brands and opinions that I can trust! (Side note: I enjoy the occasional clothing video that features brands and products that are of high quality!!! And also I wear real leather boots because they have lasted 3 years so far instead of a synthetic that lasts 1 season)

Oh, and your skin looks amazing! I appreciate your aesthetic, which to me is attainable, and actually everyday wearable.

I started watching your channel in 2019, and you really helped me change my view from just having "clean" makeup/skincare to having makeup that performs better but still has good ingredients that won't irritate my face, and you introduced me to new brands that I really love. Thank you and Happy New Year! Excited to watch in 2020!

I love basically everything you said! I don’t really even care what kind of videos you put out, I will watch anything haha! I totally agree about ingredients being one of the biggest takeaways from 2019 and I think you did a great job of reviewing a wide variety and price range! I am obsessed with thrive and have a full face of their products and I also really love the honest beauty foundation and cream blush! One is prestige and the other is from target, but I love them both! Can’t wait to see what you do in 2020 😘

Love love love this!! Funny enough, I started a clean routine 2019 type of thing in Feb/March, and now I feel like I'm in the same place you are! I enjoyed being on this clean routine 2019 journey with you, and I'm so excited to see where our routines will go from here. I've also been really interested in Charlotte Tilbury, so yes to more Charlotte Tilbury!!

My two cents: Something we should remember is that organic and natural don’t necessarily equate to good and safe (snake venom and poison ivy are natural) and synthetic doesn’t necessarily equate to bad and unsafe. I am disappointed when people make blanket statements about chemicals being evil. Water is a chemical compound! EVERYTHING is made of chemicals! “Clean beauty” is a marketing term. The key is to learn how to read all ingredients labels, do your own research, and figure out which ingredients do and don’t work for you. I, personally, use a good deal of products considered “clean” or “green” solely because my very reactive skin tolerates them better, AND they usually perform well for me. But not ALL of them do. I like some and I dislike others. And that’s okay. I also prefer to use products not tested on animals, and that is usually the case with this category of products. I think it’s all about being careful not to get sucked into the marketing, to evaluate each product on its own merits, and to also research the brand itself, if that’s something that is important to you. And all of that is very personal and can’t be determined by anyone but oneself.

Kackie, I appreciate when you review all kinds of products. I keep in mind that it is YOUR personal experience with the products that may or may not match my own. I appreciate that you introduce me to brands I may not have heard of, even if it turns out they don’t perform well for you and you don’t recommend them. Thank you for the work you do. I just really enjoy your personality. You make me smile, and we need more smiling in our lives. Be true to you and I’ll keep watching. ❤️
