I feel this pistol almost in a way screams memorable. Guns in Boarderlands as lol have memorable traits. Such as the Infinity. Yet you hit the nail on the head, it’s really easy to obtain and can be easily used by many classes till they find what they need.

I agree, I think the most overlooked component to the infinity DPS is the fact that you don't have to reload it.

It's also worth noting that not many games have "infinite ammo" guns without some overheat mechanic (like CoV in bl3) or just being turrets or cars.
It is a very unique gun that keeps the borderlands brand alive with the 8 pattern and it's overall fun to use.

To me, this weapon is iconic for a lot of reasons. I wouldn't call it "overrated" personally, because you can use it effectively in almost every difficulty with the right setup. I think the best way to describe it is just... boring to use.

In normal and TVHM it’s a very good utility gun. On it’s own it’s not weak at all but it’s not OP. I always farm one or two per run but never waste my time looking for the “perfect” drop.

I’d like to see you cover the sand hawk. Most people use it as their primary bossing weapon, I think showing other bossing weapons that compete in that same way would open a few minds.

I still keep an infinity in my backpack for nurse Maya, not having to reload and the consistent output makes it so easy to heal with, I've also always wondered about the potential of the spray pattern. As far as I understand it's the only automatic weapon with a consistent pattern, meaning if you took the time to learn it it could be 100% accurate

The Harold's numbers REALLY don't tell the whole story, as you get so many more projectiles from so the damage becomes much higher. The same logic applies to infinity, especially on salvador who gains bonuses the longer you hold down the trigger and one of his only weaknesses... inconveniences...? is that he has to reload.

A fire Infinity was my first legendary ever. I got it out of one of those strange pink sacks that are hanging from the trees right as you come into the wildlife exploitation preserve, where all the stalkers are.

Even though I wasted my time farming it without realising it wouldn't drop, I still am a big fan of it and enjoy using it.

Man the history with this gun. It's love or hate for 95% of people it seems, I have to admit I've shit on the infinity quite a bit but I've also had a lot of fun with it.

A lot of the hate came from what you alluded to in the video, it's not god tier but so many treated it as the best gun in the game many over reacted to that and shit on it, sometimes myself included.

Then there was the yote comtraversy when he put out his video of it dropping when it was bugged with a second player in the game for no reason, and when people called him on it he, well he didn't respond great. So that created more anti infinity push back.

As you say a zer0 main should really like it because it does have great synergy, I think his accuracy buff even reduced the spread.

I also have fun with it and Maya for chain reaction, it doesn't have the crazy pimpernel spikes but chain reaction like anything that spits out a ton of bullets, the infinity with wreck does that and you never get stuck with a reload mid phase lock.

Krieg with just hell orn madness can be fun, there are a lot of ways to enjoy the infinity. It's not S tier but it's a solid gun you can do fun things with.

Sometimes it isn't about pure DPS. Maybe it's a specific combo you're running, maybe it's a support weapon, maybe I just wanna have fun, mom, god! It's the same reason I use the butcher and the carnage. They aren't exactly boss killing material but I can just hold R2 and keep fucking firing ROCKETS. LEGENDARY HOARDER BUILD!!!

This weapons holds some much value to me . I remember getting my first one . I just been going a bit of a rough patch in life lost my job due, going through a divorce, and recently had to move back home with the family. I was playing borderlands 2 and got it from doc mercy. I had no clue what this was just threw it on an was oh crap it's like the dove from borderlands. But better. So I went to town destroying bad guys with it. I felt like I was unstoppable for that brief period of a few levels. But man it turned my attitude around that day around it helped me get through a brief little rough patch in life. So now every play through I have ever done I go and get it even I don't use for long as it a reminder of that first time.

This gun still holds a special place in my heart since it was the First Legendary Weapon I ever got playing Borderlands 2 for the first time. Techincally Borderlands 2 WAS my first FPS along with skyrim back in the 360 Days. Still remember spending all day in the summertime playing from dusk till dawn, As a matter of fact I belive that is also when I started watching borderlands Content since my brother would pull up guides to find Legendaries. Maybe one of those videos was from you or Joltz. Idk... Good work on the content and keep it up!

I think the main issue with the Infinity is purely the firing pattern. It absolutely kills the practicality for me. I'd honestly rather use a purple Vladof pitstol, but as you say, those are harder to obtain than the Infinity. That said, a good roll on a purple weapon *in general*, isn't going to be harder to obtain, provided you have the snowman dlc.

That and the Harold exists; farming a DPUH from a vendor is usually gonna be faster+easier than farming a good roll on the Infinity.

All in all, the Infinity isn't *bad*, it's just underwhealming. The damage is mediocre, and the special effect doesn't really come into effect all that much. It's probably seen as as bad as it is, because we all heard about it in the early days, and thought of it as an amazing weapon, but once we got into UVHM, it was no more powerful than a purple pistol. It's not bad, we just expected it to be a lot better.

Never was lucky enough to get a Neutral Necromancer class mod to fix that
