It's post Roman Dark Age Britain & Arthur shouts "give me a minute" It's complete & utter rubbish. The books are fantastic, some of Bernard Cornwell's best work but after watching the first episode I'm gutted how bad it is, smh.

As a massive fan of Bernard Cornwell, I was hoping that the Warlord chronicles would be made into a film or mini series. Now I wish they hadn't bothered. The books are not just about King Arthur (who never existed) but about Britain's history. They are written through the eyes of Derfel Cadarn which the writers of this seems to have forgotten. Like the Last Kingdom and the Sharpe adaptations, this will be well below par.

Merlin - one of Wales' and Britain's greatest figures in folklore -- apparently was of Afro Caribbean descent in our wonderful new politically correct history that no-one is allowed to complain about. . The trilogy of books this is based on are absolutely fantastic. this looks crap.

At that time there was a huge percentage of the population who was black. Something like if memory serves. Glad they are finally getting the recognition they deserve.

Do yourself a favor, skip this and just read the books. Just as good, get the amazing audiobooks, read by the goosebumps giving man with a hundred voices - Jonathan Keeble
