This was GOLDEN! The way he 'jacked the groove' w/ his own drums is a real GEM! I'll have to watch this a few more times to really get what he did. It looks like he got the drum stems from the sample, copied it, duped it, moved the drum elements to pads 1-3, then I guess he took one of the drum programs and replaced the stemmed out drum sounds w/ his own. Man, so ill! Salute to Ski Beatz...it's been a minute since I've participated in one of his Smack Pack challenges. Oh, if anyone is looking for some dope bass sounds for the MPC, Ski Beatz put out a P-Bass MPC expansion - its my absolute go-to for dope bass sounds. His replacement drum tones were a bit rough but you could see how that could be awesome. I'd love to take the tones of one classic loop and map them onto the groove of another... Do like an "amen-Apache" loop. That could be sick.
