Office Address : Sector 2, Noida -201307, Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201307

Key Information

1. Petition Filed in Supreme Court:
- A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court of India.
- The petition aims to postpone the NEET-PG 2024 exam, which is currently scheduled for August 11.

2. Concerns Raised by Petitioners:
- The petitioners have raised specific issues regarding the allocation of exam centers.
- There are also concerns about the normalization of marks for two different batches.

Detailed Elaboration
1. Petition Filed in Supreme Court
A formal request has been made to the highest judicial authority in India, the Supreme Court, to reconsider the scheduled date for the NEET-PG 2024 exam. This legal action signifies the gravity of the concerns held by the petitioners and their belief that the current exam schedule could adversely impact candidates.

2. Issues with Exam Centers
The petitioners have pointed out problems with how exam centers have been allocated. These issues could include:
- Inaccessibility: Some candidates might have been assigned centers that are far from their place of residence, making it difficult and costly for them to travel.
- Insufficient Centers: There might not be enough exam centers to accommodate all candidates comfortably, leading to overcrowding and logistical challenges.

3. Concerns About Normalization of Marks
Normalization of marks is a method used to adjust scores of candidates to account for any differences in the difficulty levels of the exam across different sessions. The petitioners are concerned about how this process will be applied to the two batches, which could imply:
- Fairness and Equity: Ensuring that all candidates are assessed on an equal footing, regardless of which batch they belong to.
- Transparency: The process of normalization should be transparent and clearly communicated to all stakeholders to avoid any misunderstandings or allegations of bias.

Implications of the Supreme Court's Decision

The Supreme Court’s decision on this petition will be crucial for several reasons:
- Impact on Exam Schedule: If the Court decides to postpone the exam, it will affect the preparation timelines of thousands of candidates.
- Logistical Adjustments: Changes in exam dates could require significant logistical adjustments from the authorities, including re-allocation of exam centers and recalibration of the normalization process.
- Precedent Setting : The ruling could set a precedent for how similar issues are addressed in the future, influencing policy and decision-making processes.

Now, in the admit card they have mentioned that the examination centres will not make any arrangement to keep our belongings eg mobile phones etc. Quoting the admit card instructions —->

"5. Use of all electronic devices, including cell phones, pagers, calculators, pen drives, tablets, is STRICTLY prohibited at the examination venue. Candidate found in possession is liable for action. Since examination centres do not have a provision for safekeeping of such devices, candidates are advised not to carry them to the examination venue. You must not also carry pens and pencils. A digital normal calculator shall be provided in the candidate's computer screen. 10. No arrangement will be made at the centres for keeping any articles/Items belonging to the candidates.”

How will the doctors travelling alone make arrangements for the safekeeping of their belongings and not carry their cell phones to a place/city alien/unfamiliar to them?

This normalisation does not appply in logic based exams where there are multiple controversial answers, so for neetpg like exam this is not done

Better to postpone timely than to kill students

-Himachal like many states has been issued orange warning by met department on August 10, 11 owing to heavy rains, thunderstorms, landslides and cloud bursts. In peak of this killer monsoon, how are we supposed to travel hundreds of kms among collapsing hills and flooded roads?? Are these warnings jokes? Then why govt met departments keep issuing them??

2) Only one centre for entire Himachal . From Kinnaur to Una, Chamba to Manali, nbems thinks just because Himachal is small state, everyone can be given one and only one centre? Do they even know how difficult and disaster prone the roads of Himachal are in monsoon? They could not even find a centre in Chandigarh!!

3) In the worst case scenario, if you have to evacuate candidates from a single centre jam packed with candidates from all over the state, will authorities be able to do it?? Not to forget how violent monsoon had collapsed a bridge and displaced many in jahu near Hamirpur few years back. And Hamirpur happens to be sole exam center in Himachal.

Almost 1 lak of jr doctors are apperning for the exam. because of Long distnce and Monsoon season they have to travels days before the exam. Manjority of our health system is smoothly running bcz of the huge effort of jr doctors so taking leave for 2 to 3 days would defintly effect the hospitals and medicl college . Shame on health ministr

❗Guys submit two queries SEPARATELY. one regarding your exam centre issue. And the next one regarding normalisation. ❗❗

Normalisation is not ok when every mark is important for ranking. MAINS/JEE mein tho cut off dete unhe pass or fail bolke. It’s very different in this case and considering they changed the exam pattern of neet 2024 just a month before exam which is ridiculous.
