They are great bikes, especially for touring. It is not an anniversary edition. That looks like a 2018 model with the 1200 cc engine.
He definitely wants to be seen and he really doesn’t wanna run out of gasoline. The gas tank on that model is almost 8 gallons. It looks like he’s got two 1 1/2 gallon RotoPacs to carry additional gasoline.
I doubt that bottle is a fire extinguisher. It could be carrying more gas, fuel for cooking, or it might be bear spray – depending on where he’s traveling.
