Показать описание
Do you have a lot of worksheets from legacy versions of PTC Mathcad, like Mathcad 15 (.mcd/.xmcd files), and need to convert them into PTC Mathcad Prime worksheets (.mcdx files)? This video shows you how to convert your files, including in batches, using Mathcad Prime's converter tool, and potential annotations/alerts or pitfalls you should pay attention to in the conversion log. This will create a new .mcdx file, and leaves your original .xmcd file intact.
This particular video showcases Mathcad Prime 7's standalone converter. Previous Mathcad Prime versions required you to have Mathcad 15 installed to perform file conversions, but Mathcad Prime 7 no longer requires this.

Subscribe to this channel for Mathcad Prime product updates and announcements, PTC Mathcad tips & tricks, and much more.

Note: If Mathcad Prime 10.0 optimization method fails on that example, try adjusting the tolerances or guess values for example N.coil:=8

You can only do this if you still have a license that covers Mathcad 15 which is no longer available to buy...rendering the feature useless at the time people actually need to use it.

If the status say "No License". What kind of problem do I have? (lincenses are handled by our IT department - what should I tell them to fix?)

Do you have some guidance on what to do when conversion fails? I have a Mathcad 15 xmcd that I attempted to convert just as you've shown, and it fails. No reason is given in the log.

I recall Prime being unable to convert older files, say v10 and prior. Does this now do more than just v13-15?

Should also note this'll convert files from even earlier than 15. Just converted a Mathcad 13 file using my version of Mathcad Prime 7!
(You'll all have access to Prime 7 by the time you read this comment, probably.)

Cool, except that the converter on the tab is faded and does nothing. I'm using a licensed version of Prime 8.0.
