I grew up listening to Thomas Newman's music as a child in the car. I'm twenty-six now and appreciate his music more and more as I grow older. It saddened me every time when the Academy didn't give him an Oscar as well as when I heard composers try to sound like him. There will never be anyone like him. I feel lucky to be alive in the same era as him and hope he knows how many lives he's touched.
