What is an NDE?
A near-death experience (NDE) is typically a profound, life changing, intensely emotional experience that usually occurs during a clinical crisis and has common characteristics and aftereffects. It is not a dream, hallucination, or mental illness (Greyson, 1983). There are no predictive variables to identify who will have an NDE. They happen to people of all ages, religions, socio-economic groups, cultures, educational backgrounds, and belief systems. They occur under a variety of circumstances such as accidents, near-drownings, illnesses, combat, surgical procedures, and childbirth. Following an NDE, experiencers (NDErs) often display some common aftereffects. Research has established a set of common NDE characteristics and long-term aftereffects. Theories used to explain near-death experiences in purely physical terms have been proven inadequate by NDE researchers and others.

Who would not want to share such an experience with a loving soul like this.

She glows so much from within, it comes through the camera. Amazing soul.

Betty you have such wonderful joy for life, I’m so glad for where you are now, it’s just amazing what source has been helping create with all the millions of people who have had NDEs, what a slow landslide of love and light is being created through so many, love and joy is contagious.

Her entire story resonates with me SO MUCH. I too experienced trauma, abuse, and neglect as a child. I also ended up drug addicted. I was a prostitute for a few years during the worst times of my life, and my active addiction. I'm still struggling a bit, but I'm starting to let go of the anger that's been tagging along with me for so many years, and I'm learning how to be grateful, and be more positive. I'm learning every single day.. I've been really trying to let go of my fear and grow spiritually, and be more mindful and aware. I'm so happy I stumbled upon her story today. I've been watching a lot of NDE videos, and also reading, but this beautiful soul really resonates with me and my life this time around. <3

I loved hearing Betty's story and that she is engaged with Baha'is in meaningful conversations. I've been a Baha'i for many years and it was the Baha'i teachings which attracted me to NDE's. Baha'u'llah's explanation of what happens when we die fits perfectly with NDE experiences. One of His analogies is that of comparing the growth and development of a baby in the womb to our growth after birth. In the womb we grow organs like eyes, ears, arms and legs which have no purpose while we are in the womb, but after we are born into the physical world, we discover why we need eyes, ears, etc. to experience this new world. During our life in the physical world we acquire virtues: we learn to be kind, to be compassionate, to love, to be empathetic, etc. These are like spiritual organs which we will need especially after we shed the garment of our physical bodies when we transition to the spiritual worlds. These qualities enhance our ability to thrive in the world to come. It's all a process of spiritual education.

As Betty said, the Baha'i Faith is centered on unity of the human race and the essential unity of religion. All religions are seen as chapters of one book, all from the same Source. Each religion was tailored to suit the spiritual needs of a particular age, much like teachers prepare lessons tailored to the developmental stage of her students. As students grow, lessons change to suit the changing needs and capacities of the students. Baha'u'llah claims that His teachings are suited to this new age of mankind where we no longer can live isolated from each other as cultures. We're all like flowers in God's flower garden where our diversity makes the garden more beautiful.

As you were talking about the squirrel, I walked to the front porch and there's a squirrel sitting on the top step. These syncro's I call the witnesses. Thank you for your life and sharing it with us.

Hope this doesn't sound too condescending but this lady I feel is a reflection of us senior folks's legacy. She gives us confidence in the the future, one that us "first wavers" had questions about....by the way, Steve is my name and those other Steve's was a huge syncretism for me.... Thank you so much.. ✌️💛

I've heard Betty's story numerous times, but I never get tired of it!

Synchronicity: I was typing a comment on this video when Betty said "I can see that Theresa is watching. Hi Theresa" - and I thought "is this LIVE??" How did she know I was here? Then I looked up and and realized that another "Teresa" was commenting in the live chat when this call was recorded. 😆

Lerning about the Baha'i faith was also part of my awakening, and I've also visited the Baha'i temple in Israel (which incidentally is located in Haifa --north of Tel Aviv). And I also started to see 111 and 1111 frequently afterwards.

Thank you for sharing your experiences

I remember you from JeffMara podcast, I thought your experience was Amazing to say the least and seeing your progress in simply inspiring to all of those that are looking for a better life

I will be checking out your podcast for sure and I also want to thank IANDS and all the NDEr brothers and sisters that have shared their experiences on videos and conferences

I had my NDE about 3 and so years ago, I was an atheist or none believer all 53 years of my life before my NDE, so about 4 months after my NDE IANDS somehow appear on my Tv and then I knew I wasn’t the only crazy person out there because I truly thought I was going nuts and between my NDEs and my OBEs and visions as an atheist I truly had no explanation for this things, but thanks to IANDS videos I felt that I belong somewhere out there

Funny enough after many emails and comments sent to IANDS I never got any response from the organization, so after sometime and many out reach I simply give up on you guys and try to find answers in our NDEr brothers and sisters videos and podcasts

Part of My experience was with Jesus so maybe that’s why I never got an answer from the organization, but the funny thing is that no religion was involved in my experiences and I was never religious and after my experiences I know that I’ll never be a religious person because I was told what religion is in my experience

But in any event I’m truly thankful to all of you for sharing and for showing so much needed support and respect for as NDErs, you guys are amazing!

So I truly wish you all well and many blessings and I wish for all the love peace and joy of our creator to forever cascade over you all, much love always

Be Love and you should be blessed

Thx for this really great story and sharing! @betty
If you could choose everything… my question is if there were only negative things and experiences to choose or also positive?
Why did you choose only negative topics for your life? Whats the reason behind? Or are the positive parts only like a present?

Too much of an evangelical conversion story! I thought this IANDS was about the real reality behind reality, not about "spiritual development". I heard someone talking about not making IANDS a religion, maybe this is what he talked about, but I didn't understand it then.
