what would the potential and E-feild be if the nails were circular rings and you took a measurement inside?

I’m having trouble doing this assignment with my physics class. We are using a 1.5v battery, but I’m getting readings of 1.7 and 1.6 volts when I test the water. Also, I’m getting a lot of straight lines instead of curves. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Maybe too much water or the wrong type of water?
