My dad passed in 99 from advanced cancer, the strongest man I ever knew went from a giant to a feeble man in months. No one ever gave me condolences, this gave me some peace.

Disabled veteran myself. The older I get, the more I miss my loved ones who have passed and wish I could see them again.

My mom died unexpectedly Christmas morning 2021. Try listening to the only scars in heaven by casting crowns. I cry sad and peaceful tears every time, the song really is a comfort to me.

This guy lives 10 miles from me. I fish under the same flint river bridge. He never left. He still lives here, in this small town. He wanted his kids to go to the same small town school he did. Which I thing is awesome! He's a cool ass dude

Sitting down at out "table" in Cuba at a resort in a Goodwill Tour .. sitting with recording artists from 3 different bands having coffee and my good Bud asks "How old are ya now Bubba?"
I replied "Rik; I'm one year passed expiration"
Drummer from Doc Walker asks "WTF does that mean Bubba?"
I replied "I never planned on making it passed 50; seriously! I work hard. I play hard. I'll die early."
After a long pause with a bunch of boys absolutely stunned..
Rik says "piss off boys; I'm writing that country song!"

Then Rik and I talked later for many hours about it later.. He and I have been close friends for nearly 25 years now.. He said "you always joked about this; heard it many times from you over the years.. but I didn't know you meant it"

Live large. Love large. Every minute counts!

My daughter (17 at the time) requested this song at my dad's funeral.. So of course we played it. "I Drive Your Truck" is another she asked to play..

What a beautiful song reminds me of my pawpaw. The most gentle man. That raised me loved to be able to see and talk to him again . And it's been 23 years ago .

About a month ago now I was on leave between commands and spent that time at home with my parents. My bird dog Maggie May was thirteen years old and wasn't comfortable, she had a lot of health issues. It hurt so much because she was there for every significant moment in my life until then. I had to say goodbye to her, what was the closest thing to a sister i'll ever have, and then the next week fly out from my childhood home for what is probably the last time. It still hurts, but I can hope that I'll see her and everyone else on the other side.

I remember listening to this song with my parents. I lost them to cancer when I was 14. Listening now, alone is very disheartening. I miss my parents. Currently 20 with a babygirl I named after my mom and a boy on the way. I hope they can see I'm doing my best
